Fantastic experience: They are really hands on with the little ones. My daughter had a fit getting her teeth polished. They moved rooms to ensure that she was able to watch tv as a distraction to what was going on. I love how they are in tuned with the needs of their patients. You do not get a lot of great customer service these days. I’m glad they make us feel welcome. Way to go, keep it up. You rock

Fantastic experience: We were looking for a dentist that worked well with kids with special needs and our Cardiologist told us about Dr. Keels at Duke Street Pediatric Dentistry and we are so happy with that recommendation. At first we saw Dr. Keels each time but now we are comfortable with seeing the other dentist as well. Everyone that we have come in contact with has been very nice and understanding because my son doesn't do well with having his teeth checked. Fantastic experience: Always have the best experience at Duke Street Pediatric Dentistry! It is worth the 2 hour drive we make. Staff members speak gently during procedures to calm and reassure my special needs child. Breaks are allowed to give him a "rest" which reduces anxiety. He gets great care here! After 30 years, they have built a rapport with him and know him pretty well. (Yep, he has been treated here since his first dental visit and we obviously have been pleased as we've stayed with this practice for around 30 years.) Thanks Dr Keels and staff!

Fantastic experience: The office was a bit of a drive for us, but totally worth it. My grandson has autism and he was very comfortable there. Everyone was so nice and helpful, very gentle with my grandson. The whole office was decorated so adorable, they even had games for the kids to play while waiting. Highly recommend!!

Fantastic experience: My daughter needed emergency surgery done to her baby front tooth. I called after 12 noon and they had availability for 3 pm. When I tell you they are the best not just in Durham but in the entire state for children! I am so happy they were referred to me by my sister-in-law. I wish they did adults as well as Pediatrics. Fantastic experience: I cannot say enough good things about Duke Street Pediatric Dentistry. I am so grateful that we found this place. We were a military family moving around a lot and so my daughters have been through quite a few dentists. When we moved up to Southern Virginia we had a hard time finding a provider that was accepting new patients. We finally had found a place, whose name I will not mention, and we were continuing with regular check-ups and even going every 3 months so my one daughter could get comfortable going to the dentist. During that time we were never made aware of any issues with my daughter's teeth. Through coincidental luck my husband found a provider much closer to our home that was accepting patients and we all moved to the new location. At my daughter's checkup we were told that she had extensive damage to her back teeth and would require extensive work and possible extractions. We were devastated and crying in disbelief. I wanted to find a place that specialized in Pediatric Dentistry who could perform this procedure for us. My mother is a former ER nurse who emphasized to me that it would be important to find a place that would perform the procedure in a pediatric setting because medical professionals not working with settings often can be confused by dosing anesthesia medicine to children. I searched and found this Dentistry who performs all of their procedures like this at the Children's Hospital. That was critically important to me. Above and beyond that, the staff is warm, welcoming, comforting, and non judgemental. Dr. Meredith Byrd is phenomenal in every way. She is a parent herself and cared for my daughter as if she was a family member. This is the office you go to if you want peace of mind and phenomenal care that will put your child at ease. The whole office is designed to make children feel welcomed.

Fantastic experience: After 16 years of six month check ups and braces for our kids, we unfortunately had our first dental emergency- and the night before high school graduation. A basketball injury led to a painful and unsightly tooth injury. We were able to reach our Duke Street Pediatric Dentistry team on call and Dr Brecher was able to talk us through immediate and next steps, and Dr. Keels saw us in office early the next morning to enact the follow-up plan. They both talked us through a very scary scenario, were available in ways unexpected and provided reassurance and a plan. Thank you for being there all the years and when we needed you the most! And for saving graduation day!

Update: We just had another visit for my son Again, the staff are absolutely amazing. I would give 100 stars if there were an option to do so. Dr. Brecher is very professional and explains everything down to earth where you can understand what’s going on and came up with a great plan of action for my child’s extensive mouth issues. Larsen that I met this time was soooo nice! She knew her stuff and was caring and patient! This was only our 2nd visit and it was exceptional! My 2yr old had his 1st visit today 9-25-2024! I was running about 20-25min behind once I hit traffic near Burlington, and I called thinking well I need to let them know! I was assuming I would have to reschedule, but the super nice secretary that answered went and asked the dentist if it was possible to still see us!! I am so grateful she said yes and got both kids in!! Appointment went great! I do apologize for my oldest son not wanting to cooperate! Everyone I have met there are very kind, knowledgeable, and have lots of patience with the children! It bright environment makes you feel right at home! 2nd visit for my youngest son. As always everyone I’ve ever encountered working there are kind and sweet! The office is always clean and relaxing! Front desk staff is top tier just like the assistants and dentists themselves! I have absolutely no complaints! Best dentistry ever!

Fantastic experience: This was me and my daughter’s first visit. She is five years old so she was a little nervous because this was not her normal dentist office. We were referred By her normal dentist, The atmosphere was kid-friendly, and colorful, which made it very welcoming. The orthodontist was amazing, She provided me with important information in terms that I could easily understand. She also provided me with tips and tricks to help with the task of getting my little one to brush without a fight. we had a great conversation that included foods that were not the best for toddlers when it came to dental hygiene, ways to prevent cavities and everything teeth! I would highly recommend this office for parents in the greater triangle area!!

Fantastic experience: Honestly, I never knew it was a "thing" to bring a less-than-2-year-old to a dentist! Thus I was really unsure how this whole process (of looking at baby's teeth) was going to go. But I have nothing but positive things to say about our visit. Those at the reception desk were helpful and patient, and the dental assistant and dentist we saw did a wonderful job of explaining the process, cleaning and inspecting baby's teeth, and overall just made the visit very easy. This practice was recommended by our pediatrician, and I'm glad she did. I'm sure our daughter's teeth will be well taken care of for years to come :)

The dental assistant and dentist were very informative on general topics and also answered some of my more in-depth questions about my toddler’s oral health as it relates to his medical condition. Fantastic experience: We have been going to Duke Street Pediatric dentistry since my girls have been tiny - and have always had good experiences. Yesterday we had a more complicated dental need of some tooth extractions for orthodontic purposes - and the care my daughter (and I) received both as far as dentistry and the emotional support to help with the nerves was EXCEPTIONAL. They walked us through what to expect, went slow and made sure my daughter gave consent before every step - and were gently, understanding, positive, encouraging and just wonderful in every way throughout the procedure. Some extras that helped my daughter: A tv above her where she could watch a movie of her choice. A comfort blanket to cover herself with and feel more cozy Space for me to sit right next to her and hold her hand Nitrous oxide with a fun scent to help her relax Making sure that her anaesthesia levels were set with lidocaine before starting And cool box for her teeth she was actually really excited about A prize at the end, of course She was dreading coming in - and ended up telling her sister and friends ‘it really was pretty easy in the end’ She feels ready for round two when she has to get two bottom teeth pulled - and that is thanks to the amazing care after this first round. He was very bad up at times it would not want to open his mouth but the staff was so professional and so patient with him I loved every minute of it. This dentistry office is amazing and even though I had to travel a two and a half hours to this appointment I will continue to do so for each of his appointments.

And now Dr. Keels take care of our 4 year grand daughter teeth and she loves going to visit Dr. Keels every six months so she can keep her beautiful teeth. So she can keep a beautiful smile .
