Positive experience: I have brought both my children in for several visits. My first visit with my oldest was great. The hygienist was great and explained everything very well. My second visit with my oldest child the dentist applied fluoride without asking first which is fine but I prefer to be asked before my child is given anything. My second child had an upper lip and tongue frenectomy which was great and so helpful. The dentist was super thorough and explained everything well at the consult, including the stretches. However a week later when my baby had the actual procedure, I was not reminded of how to do the stretches and struggled to do them well. When we went back for a follow up, Penny, the assistant pushed his tongue back and the incision popped open and started bleeding. I very frantically was trying to console my near newborn. Who obviously was in pain. Penny was very unsympathetic and telling me “push his tongue all the way back, he can’t choke on it”. Obviously he can’t choke but he can gag. She was very all over the place. I just felt like for a person working with children, she had terrible bedside manner. Overall my experiences are 50/50.

Positive experience: I love this place the Dr is amazing and all the time the staff is great but in my last visit the dentist’s assistant was so rude she looked like frustrated or some mad thanks God another lady came and made feel my son more comfortable.

Fantastic experience: Honesty the best experience I’ve ever had and I wasn’t even the patient my son had surgery and the dentist that performed the surgery did amazing. She was attentive. She made sure she explained everything and even after the surgery was done she came to me and made sure that I understood everything that was going on and that she took the time out and just had a real conversation with With with me, let me know my child was doing OK. and it happened so fast she’s amazing. Don’t ever get rid of her and when she retires, you guys are going to miss her. She’s amazing. I don’t know her name. I forgot it, but she has clear braces and she’s from Oklahoma or Indiana. I don’t know one of the two, but she was amazing. I love her.

Negative experience: My experience yesterday was highly unprofessional. I was provided incorrect information on care for my daughter. That resin last for 3-6 months when in fact lasts for 3-5 years where my child will be in age range for her back molars to fall out on their own. Her remark was my daughter’s cavities are due to poor parent choices in diet: candy, cereal, chips, and in insurance that I wouldn’t be able to avoid resin but they can print a quote anyway.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Stewart and his asst were so kind and compassionate. Top notch care. I myself have been jndenral form 26 years so I know good and bad. We did sedation with nitrous it made it quick and easy in all parties. I want my son to not fear the dentist. I highly recommend. Ps the asst we had I cannt remember her name walked us out calledl the next day to check on us. Super duper sweet and affectionate to my scared son.

Fantastic experience: The wait is never long, the place is clean & has engaging decor for the kids, the staff are very good with the kids, and the tv monitors above every chair help keep the kids occupied & calm. Very good experiences!

Fantastic experience: We have a good hour drive each time we come, but it is so worth the drive! I wouldn’t bring my son anywhere else, he has had nothing but awesome experiences each time we come! We love Dr. Stewart and his staff, each and every one is sweet and polite. They take their time to answer my curious 6 year olds questions, and showing him his teeth X-rays and all the tools.

Fantastic experience: Very easy to make an appointment, called on tuesday and got seen on wednesday for my daughter who is 2 and a half , it was her first appointment and they made her feel very comfy they were calm and patient with her the whole time i loved being able to go from room to room with her as well to see the process . everything was so quick we got checked in and didn’t even get a chance to sit down before we got called back . the ladies re very sweet can’t wait to go back!

Extreme friendly staff, and the dental assistant we had was so patient and fun. THIS is where I want my daughter to be seen for anything dental. 5 stars and then some! Great work guys & gals! (The tvs on the ceiling with cartoons for the kiddos is truly amazing and I've never seen a place cater to children like this place does. Truly great place for kids)

She kept my little girl calm throughout the entire process of taking x-rays and had such an uplifting, positive and patient personality during the entire visit. My son is nonverbal autistic and they take such AMAZING care of us! as a special needs parent it’s so comforting having a dentist who exceeds our expectations, they’re not easy to come by. Appointments are hard for him but they try their best to comfort + distract him while getting the job done & are very gentle, cooperative, considerate, and understanding of what is needed. Fantastic experience: Shreveport Bossier Family Dental on Barksdale Blvd is the place to take the kids! Dr. Stewart is amazing with children. We have been seeing him since my daughter was 6. She was terrified of going to the dentist until we started going here. He talks to the children on their level. He also explains everything he’s going to do in terms that they can understand and feel comfortable with. He never let my daughter see the shot when she had any dental work done. The whole staff is very patient with children.

Fantastic experience: From the moment we walked in the door, my son was very comfortable. Hannah, the hygienist, and Dr. Stewart were so amazing. The time they spent educating me on some problems that had been persistent with my son’s teeth but were never explained in detail as they did was so amazing and extremely helpful. Dr. Stewart was so great and patient, informative to us parents and it went as well as it possibly could have given the situation ! Super nice staff from the front desk to the assistants. Fantastic experience: Myself and my kiddo were a bit nervous about visiting the dentist. I was able to make them aware of before we even got to the office. They offered a more private room so as to not overwhelm my little one, so this started off the visit on a good note. From there it only got better. Everyone in the office from the receptionist to Dr. Stewart were AMAZING! They took their time with BOTH of us, never made me or my child feel like we were annoying them or taking up their time. Our nerves were gone by the time we saw the doc and my little was laughing and having a great time! Would HIGHLY recommend to anyone who has any anxiety about the dentist or who is just looking for a great environment for their dental needs . They will definitely be our go to going forward!

Fantastic experience: Absolutely Amazing! All parents are nervous about taking their kiddos to a new place. Upon entrance they were friendly. The kids get to play on the computer before going back. Once we got to the back the staff were perfect ! They spoke to my daughter and let her know every step of the way in language and terms for her to understand what was happening. I absolutely loved that. She felt so safe and aware of that was happening. They set up the follow up appointments within days and weeks out vs months ! The treatment was fast and the work that they did was great ! Couldn’t ask for a better experience ! Would recommend to anyone looking for a pediatric dentist !

Negative experience: We were not happy with the visit. The customer service model does not put the customer first. The chairs are overbooked without sufficient dentist coverage. Billing is prioritized over patient care. I expect patient centered care. As a result we needed to leave without seeing the dentist. Our daughter needed to get to school. If you are going to schedule school age children during school hours, you need to be committed to getting them in and out as quickly as possible. We don’t have the ability to lounge about until a dentist deigns to see us.

Fantastic experience: I took my 2 month old to see Dr. Stewart for a potential lip and tongue tie. Dr. Stewart was informative, kind, and answered all of my questions with honest and researched based responses. The entire staff was welcoming and personable. I would recommend SB kids for all of your pediatric dental needs!

Fantastic experience: I have always had the best experience with Dr. Katie Beach at SBFD but yesterday was my 4 year old daughters first time. She was very anxious but the dental hygienist, Penny and Dr. Stuart were an absolute dream with my girl! They showed her all the tools, how they felt and asked her if she was ok to proceed prior to treatment. Extremely patient with her and my questions/concerns as a parent! Can’t recommend SBFD enough whether it be an adult or child!

Fantastic experience: Our son needed some baby teeth pulled, but is terrified of pain, so was uncooperative with another local dentist. We were referred by a friend to Shreveport Bossier Kids Dentistry, & top to bottom, our experience earlier today was absolutely perfect!!! Dr. Hake was fabulous, & there were no tears, complications, or pain! When they sat him up, he said, “I didn’t feel anything!” I am such a happy Mama!!! If you see this, thank you so much, Dr. Hake! This is absolutely your calling!

Fantastic experience: We love this this dentist! Sadly my child is clumsy and has hit her mouth more times than not and they always get us in and always take the best care of her! They are so patient with and always so so sweet! We will be using them until she is too old!

Negative experience: Never even had a chance to visit. They refused my appointment due to having to reschedule my appointment twice. First time, we had covid, the second time, my vehicle was not working and I had to bring it to the service center. I called them both times to let them know. The last time, the lady rescheduled my appointment for the next day, which was perfect because I was going to have my vehicle back by then. Then she called me back and said, we can not schedule you. You rescheduled too many times. I'm sorry that life happens... no compassion or understanding. I will happily go somewhere else where we can be welcomed.

Fantastic experience: This place does everything right! From the moment you walk in the door until the end, you can tell that they have thoughtfully invested into your experience. I took my 1, 3, 4, and 7 year old boys, and they all loved their visit. Not only do they have great dynamics in the office, but the care received was top notch. They even managed to give my 1 year old a cleaning, and he miraculously behaved perfectly and was happy the whole time. I feel my children received thourough great dental care. ETA: It's now been 4 years since my first review. We still love going- they are quick and good with the kids. There's only 1 downside that has developed over the years- they are overly busy! I guess everyone else loved them too. I accidentally missed my kid's appointment- which is totally on me and I feel super bad about- somehow mixed up my calendar.... anyways, was not able to reschedule that appointment for 6 months! So their appointment basically couldn't be rescheduled. However they are good at getting emergencies in. The next week another child was in an incident where his front tooth was chipped. It was at the end of the day- so they got him in next morning. Everything went great- they got a filling on to protect it until he's older. I only have 1 suggestion for improvement. With how busy they are, the front desk has developed a little bit of a negative energy if late. They told me to be there at 8- and we live an hour away. At 7:50 I got a call wondering why I wasn't there. I guess they put me on the schedule for 7:30. As I was a couple minutes away- they informed me they may need to cancel and reschedule my appointment. A little disconcerting after being told a certain time, waking up early, and driving an hour to be there. Once there, everything went great though, and they took good care of my son.

Fantastic experience: This is by far the best dental place we have been to. Everyone here is extremely nice and this place is very kid friendly. My son had an abscessed tooth that had to be pulled, they did wonderful. He just had to get a filling as well and Dr. Stewart made my son so at ease along with his staff. His last cleaning, he was very distraught at first, but with patience and love from this staff he was laughing by the end. This will be the ONLY place my children will go!

Negative experience: I am not one to leave negative reviews. But I don't want anyone to go through the worrying that I went through for my baby. Although Dr. Stewart was kind and personable, he refused to release my 10 month old's stage 4 lip tie and tongue tie. I tried calling several times to speak with an assistant and had no responses. I had to send my husband up to his office after work to talk in person just to get a response from them. We expressed our concerns once again and asked him to please reconsider. He still said he wouldn't do it unless my son had further "symptoms". We then went to a speech/feeding therapist which looked at my son's mouth and immediately said we needed to get it taken care of to prevent further problems. She wrote us a referral to a different doc because she didn't want us to go back to the place that told us no. We have since then went to this new doctor which also confirmed his lip tie and tongue tie are certainly a cause for concern and should be released as soon as possible. I am sure Dr. Stewart is a great dentist, and I've heard wonderful things about him. But unfortunately we did not have a great experience and I wouldn't want any mother to have the worries that I had and feel as though they were not being heard.

Fantastic experience: My wife liked the visit. I wasn't able to attend but Dr. Stewart took the time to discuss plan of care for my daughter over the phone. Highly recommended.
