Negative experience: They’ve canceled our last three appointments due to scheduling conflicts or lack of provider. DO NOT take your kids here!

Adam Zemianek 1 month ago

Negative experience: Facility is nice and setup for kids well but they have way too many patients and customer service and care is terrible. Appointments take longer than most other dentists and it sometimes takes months to get a routine cavity filled. Here’s two examples of their lack of care for timeliness and lack of availability…Daughter had 2 cavities diagnosed in Aug2025. Earliest appointments they had to fix was Jan 2026. 5 months to get a cavity filled. Then when we show up for January appointment the had my daughter sit on Nitrous Oxide for 20 min to inject the numbing medicine then 30 more minutes later to do the cavity that took literally 5 minutes. 50 minutes of NO for 5 minutes of work, this is only after I told them I wanted to speak to the doctor and 50 minutes of NO was too long. $200 bill after ins. There’s better out there. Keep looking…

Fantastic experience: we had both of our kids first dental visits this morning (ages 1 and 2) and had a wonderful experience here from start to finish! The dentist and all the staff were great.

Negative experience: Avoid at all costs!!! Very poorly run and they.l can’t keep any skilled personnel. We showed up to an appointment that was booked 6 months ago and they were closed. They never emailed, called or texted to cancel or reschedule. We were told they had no dentist’s available so they were closed. Wasted my time and they don’t care.

Fantastic experience: Love the office - they did have a tough time with staffing for a bit, so had to reschedule us a few times but seems that has gotten better. Clean and friendly place. Our kids feel comfortable and love the popsicles, toys, and balloons at the end!

Negative experience: 3 year old Daughter saw Dr. Lindsey, who I am absolutely shocked works with pediatric patients. She smacked my child’s arms down because she was holding the phone up to watch something to help her stay still/calm. She stated “there is a TV up there”, referencing the TV overhead. I am a healthcare professional and I was stunned by the lack of professionalism/empathy. The hygienists were nice enough, but didn't seem like they had experience with peds, didn’t help walk me through how to help my kid through her first dental appointment, and my child is very calm and cooperative. On top of that, the office staff (schedulers) are rude any time you try to schedule an appointment. I’ve heard so many complaints recently about this practice I’m really glad we switched dentists and I would not recommend wasting your time here!

Negative experience: The absolute worst place. Do NOT trust them with your child. They can’t keep staff. Cancel appointments and are unprofessional. When I started there years ago they were great. Nothing but a steady decline the last 2 years. Go anywhere but here.

Negative experience: Our kid been a patient here since for three years now. I feel like the practice was in much better shape. They don't care for children anymore; and the lack of communication between the staff and the parents is terrible.

Thalles Valente 4 months ago

Negative experience: is is the second year in a row that my children’s dental appointment, scheduled well in advance, has been canceled by your office. Last year we faced the same issue, and unfortunately, it has happened again. This time, the appointment for October 27, which we scheduled more than six months ago, was canceled. When I called to reschedule, I was informed that the next available appointment would not be until 2026.

Negative experience: My son has been a patient here since 2022. I feel like the practice was in much better shape. The lack of communication between the staff and the parents is terrible. We were in on July 30 and my son needed to get a sedated filling so they sent us home with the paperwork to fill out. I filled it out and sent it back in and I’ve waited almost 2 months to hear back so I called the office and they told me I needed to call Chesterfield so I called Chesterfield. Chesterfield said that they stopped doing sedated fillings with the company. They had me fill out paperwork with on July 31. Why would Ofallon had me fill out and send in the paperwork if they knew they stopped working with them the following day? They apologized that O’Fallon miscommunicated, but I have to pay for an out-of-pocket exam with a new dentist because of their lack of communication I feel like not only did they waste my money, but they wasted my time. It’s extremely frustrating and disappointing because I did like the actual doctors but, they are responsible for communicating with their office staff and making sure things like this do not happen.

Fantastic experience: Staff is very nice! The only thing you’ll see someone different each time. Very patient and kind to make children comfortable!

Michelle Otto 9 months ago

Positive experience: The office staff could use a lesson on empathy and just be aware, you must schedule at least 6 months before you hope to get your child in before their dental issues become worse.

Negative experience: Our last two appointments were cancelled due to the office no longer being open on those days. The first time was understandable. The second time it didn’t make sense to stay. I asked to be transferred to another one of their offices that was open one of those days and was told they will not transfer patients to another location. Not to mention the crazy wait times. We’d show up on time just to sit in the waiting room for a minimum of 30 minutes each time in a packed waiting room. We switched dentists and waited 5 minutes and saw the dentist immediately after the cleaning. My 5 year old even said, “wow this place is so much better.”

Fantastic experience: My daughter was terrified of the dentist but our hygienist, Halima, was so patient and kind! She was able to get my daughter to let her brush her teeth and even take x-rays! Dr. Amy was also amazing, kind, and caring. Everyone turned what could have been a nightmare into a great experience for my daughter and me! THANK YOU!

Jeannie Kennedy 10 months ago

Fantastic experience: Dr. Amy is truly wonderful at what she does. She made my 5 year old son feel at ease. She did a filling with absolutely no tears from Him. I was shocked! Many thumbs up if you’re as nervous as I was about his first filling.

Negative experience: A few years ago I would have given 5 stars. But since my sons experience starting in August of 2024 I would give 0 if it was an option. Come to find out after his August appointment he had bronchitis and definitely was not breathing in to get the nitrous for his treatment and him saying he could feel pain and was not numb enough to be told We HAVE to do sedation. Dr. Amy was great with his filling done in 2022. But in August 2024 it was a completely different atmosphere. We use to chat about The prosthodontist and one of the Oral surgeon she went to school with that I work for. The August appointment should have been postponed due to the fact that my son nose was a little runny at the time and I told him he had a cough and they have his medical history of asthma. Looking back I feel she probably should have put it all together that he wasn’t getting the nitrous. I should have rescheduled but it’s so hard to get an appointment that isn’t 6-8 weeks out and they will not do a cleaning with in a certain time period of other proposed treatment getting done. So I didn’t want to risk loosing the November hygiene Appointment that was scheduled to line up with both my sons and mine schedule. I went ahead and paid for the sedation in mid Oct. and Paid for all proposed treatment in the beginning of Dec but got told 1 week before hand that the sedation would be another 2,000 because the appt was scheduled for after the new year. After talking with my son he said he would do the treatment with nitrous again he just didn’t want to hurt. I called his office in O’Fallon and all they could offer me was an $50 exam appointment to look at a tooth that is already treatment planned and paid for with No option of same day treatment. For a kid who is in pain! In the moment I said just go ahead and take it from the full treatment planned for sedation appt since we would only be able to do quadrants under nitrous anyway. I was informed that money was at the chesterfield location not the O’Fallon. The next day I received a phone call from Maddie (surprise since I emailed her about needing to schedule for nitrous and told the front desk that when I called to cancel the sedation appt) I was told by Maddie the surgery coordinator that Dr. Amy would not even attempt to try to do any treatment unless sedation was happening. I asked for the refund which I was told it would take up to 30 days. But my HSA says it should only take 7-10 and the x rays and medical history apparently takes 7-10 days to get from them. This is all a long time to WAIT for a child IN TOOTH PAIN to have the funds to even pay another dentist to get the work done. After talking with 2 others parents that children at patients of the practice one said their child who is middle school age said she felt pain for her filling and they would not listen and just kept telling her to hold on they were almost finished and the other parent they will not just do a filling on with out nitrous for something that happened when he was 3/4 years old (he is almost 9 now) but they need the fee for nitrous for some reason. apparently I am not the only parent who feels like this place is not helping kids not be scared of the dentist and is they are more concerned about getting money for any little thing they can. *UPDATE My son was seen and treated with in 10 days of calling the 1st appointment and getting the tooth that was causing pain out. The level of care and compassion at the new office is outstanding. So much that my son did not even need the Nitrous for a tooth to be extracted! He feels comfortable and HEARD now. Also even though this practice is out of my “dental network” I will be saving money on his treatment. I encourage every parent to listen to their child.

Negative experience: This place is ridiculous we have had multiple appointments rescheduled because they seem to overbook. They rescheduled us for a different day my wife was caught In traffic they said be here by 2pm it was 2:02 and they sent her away. Don’t waste your time and money!!

Fantastic experience: My children have received excellent care from the dentists and hygienists at St. Louis Pediatric Dentistry. We’ve been there for over two years and we love Dr. Amy, the hygienists, and all the new staff!

Fantastic experience: Excellent with our daughters! Fast and efficient. Our doctor had to have a tooth extracted and some other dental work and required anesthesia due to her high anxiety levels. They did an excellent job calming her down and easing her fears. They were very kind and compassionate. They are our girls' new denstists-- we will be back.

Fantastic experience: The hygienists and staff here are amazing. Our son was nervous and scared, but Miss Allison helped talk him down and soothe him. She explained the process and what she was doing, keeping him engaged and brave. Everyone was wonderful and we left with our son telling me how much he likes the dentist and how he is ready to go back.

Positive experience: This office has a high turn over of their technicians/hygienists. We have been going there for several years and not once have we ever had the same girl, let alone recognize anyone but the Dr. My daughter needs a tooth pulled per her orthodontist, and we were given a date four months from now. I just can't believe that we can't get in sooner, especially with multiple locations across the metro. I've also wondered when is it time to take my teenagers somewhere else for a more detailed and thorough cleaning/exam. I feel like if you're just cleaning the baby teeth, it may not be as important; but if your working with the forever teeth, it's more important to for a good cleaning AND reinforcements from Dr. to help remind to the teenagers how important oral hygiene is. Mom's voice is just quieter and coming from the professional, it just hits different.

Negative experience: I usually do not leave reviews and I am so disappointed in St. Louis Pediatric Dentistry that I felt it was worth a review. Two of my kids needed dental work. In September of 2024 we scheduled the procedures for the first available time, February 2025. I received a call the day before the appointments that they had to cancel the appointments because of snow coming in. It ended up being one of those days where the snow as not bad at all. I asked when we could reschedule and they said that they could not at this time. That they did not have any openings until after June 2025. I asked them what I was suppose to do then for the kids needed the dental work and we had already waiting so long. They told me to go somewhere else. I asked them if they had someone to refer me to. They said no. They proceeded to tell me to take the treatment plans to a new dentist. I told them that it had been 6 months and I did not have the paperwork anymore. I asked if they could email me the treatment plan. They said no. I asked them what I was suppose to do. That we had waited 6 months for the dental work for them to cancel it, not reschedule it, provide no referral and refuse to send treatment plan. I told them this leaves a mother, and the kids, in a bad spot. Their only response was that they could not do anything to help. It is past frustrating and not a way for a kid focused place to treat kids and families. If you want someplace that actually cares about your kids, their health, and their teeth - this place is NOT it.

Negative experience: I have had my 3 children as patients there and, while generally pleased with the care, we have had multiple issues with this office over the last 12 months. This includes 4 cancelled appointments due to "dr schedules" each time. These are appointment that we have to wait several months to get and then to have them cancelled with 2-3 weeks notice and then told they cannot reschedule the appointments for several months out. I can completely understand this happening on occasion but 4 different times (3 in 2025) is completely unreasonable. I also have had 2 appointments with my son where I was asked to schedule a follow up appointment, the appointment was made and attended. I payed my co-pay only to have the doctor say they are unable to perform the procedure and that I would need to make another appt (only for them to cancel-see above). These issues, along with the monthly "we're hiring" emails we get from the office lead me to believe they are unable to handle their current patient load. This is really unfortunate.

Negative experience: I switched to this practice in 2024 and we visit the Ladue Office. Everything is ok going for regular cleanings for my child and check-ups. I would avoid using this office if your child has any sort of Dental Trauma. My child fractured his 2 front permanent teeth and needed caps. Although they worked us into the schedule last minute, the experience could have been better. My child is 7 and was having a hard time with the experience. The doctor became very short with us and frustrated because he was acting like a child who wasn't holding still. It would have been nice if she did not have to remind me constantly that she worked us into the schedule, as if she was providing a free service. I tried to express to her that he may have had problems breathing the nitrous oxide through his nose, she shut me down, and did not take into account his health history of year round allergies and he does have problems with a stuffy nose constantly..also as she was doing the procedure several times it appeared that one of his nostrils was being smashed closed by the nose piece that was not exactly covering both nostrils. Then I got lectured for her observing that most children do better with parents not in the room..I told her she could have asked me to leave the room so things would go smoother. She had to abruptly end the procedure because of his continued agitation with the procedure, but it would have been nice to have this stressful experience, with more sympathy and less lecturing and condescension. The doctor could really work on her bedside manner. I won't be back to this office again.

Negative experience: Made me feel as though my children were a burden. I came in with my 3 under 3 and there were extremely long wait times and we kept being told they would be seen soon so I was supposed to keep my child on the table waiting indefinitely for the dentist while the other 2 were just supposed to sit in the corner silently, which of course being toddlers was a very difficult thing for all involved and so by the time the dentist finally arrived everyone was upset and frustrated so it made the experience so much worse.

Fantastic experience: Having three children with varying levels of anxiety and tolerance for the dentist, the staff have always been patient and accommodating. At our last visit Smantha, the dental assistant, worked so wonderfully with our children despite their resistance to cooperate at times. She was also very reassuring and helped me, as the parent, be at ease with three very stressed children. I will have to request her as the dental assistant next time if I can, that’s how much I appreciated her abilities! The children’s dentist, Dr. Amy LeCave, is so quick and throughout. I am always so impressed by her. She is also a very attuned dentist to the children’s sensitivities while getting work done.

Fantastic experience: It was an amazing experience. It was a complete 180 from our first experience with my 6 year old, at a different dental office. The first time my daughter wouldn’t even let them touch her teeth, and here at stl pediatrics, they explained everything and even let my daughter touch the instruments. She knew exactly what they were going to do before they did it, and was just so much calmer than before. We will be going here from now on.

Negative experience: This was our second time seeing Dr. Lindsay. We waited an hour to see her. When she walked in there was no apology for our wait. She immediately snapped why isn’t my daughter laying down. Well she was for 45 minutes and then my 7 year old sat up. She didn’t even acknowledge my daughter and was pretty rude. She told me she was watching a tooth and as I told her that my daughter was learning to brush her teeth, she snapped back that I wasn’t being a good mom because I let my 7 year old brush her teeth. She didn’t even let me say I check after she brushes. She told me that my daughter was too scared for dental work. Well she has been to a dentist since she was 6 months old and has never been scared until we went to Dr. Lindsey. Now after our visit my daughter is scared to do anything dental. What a sad day that a pediatric dentist can be so rude and not kind. Do better and treat your patients with kindness. A dentist should encourage children so they will continue be excited about oral care.

They were very quick, efficient, and very patient.

Negative experience: If there was an option to give 0 stars I would rate this place with a zero. My son never missed an appointment. They told us for a year and a half that they were keeping an eye on a cavity. Then at his last appointment they told us that it was so bad that he needed a cap on that tooth. I took him to another dentist office and he had multiple other issues that they were also ignoring. Terrible service here. My Child's Dentist is amazing compared to this place. Way better Dentist, dental assistants, and care for your child than here.

Negative experience: We have been seeing Dr. Lindsey for 13 years, before St. Louis Pediatric Denistry opened. I was informed today that my 3 year can not come in tomorrow for her appointment ( that was made months ago) because her paperwork was not submitted 24hr in advance. I asked what happens when someone doesn't have the ability to fill out paperwork 24 hrs prior to the appointment? What if we had just gotten back into the United States and have not had the means to fill everything out? Can you make an exception if you accept her insurance? She is 3 without any other health conditions or prior teeth trauma, this would be a very standard cleaning. The office staff offered no suggestions or help to see if my daughter could keep her appointment tomorrow, basically dismissed me as if I was a looser who didn't fill out her daughter's paperwork. I asked if I could keep her appointment if I provided all of her health insurance to them and filled out the paperwork this evening because that would be the only opportunity for me to do it. I also asked the office staff if they could leave Dr. Lindsey a message asking if she would still see my daughter tomorrow and my response was she doesn't take personal phone calls. I am very rational person, mother of 3 girls, who sends a lot of families this direction. However, after this encounter I think our time has come to an end frequenting St. Louis Pediatric Denistry. When you own a business, the face and voice of the company means everything, and this was not a good look for them. Also I understand policies and procedures and I believe as long as they get what they need to service my child, why does it matter if it was now or 2 hrs ago as long as her insurance is accepted? I was not asking for my daughter to be seen without confirming dental insurance or without paperwork, I was asking to be able to still fill out the forms when I got home, that is all.

Negative experience: My daughter had a small cavity. We had to wait 5 months to get the filling. I asked to go to other offices (within the same practice) to get a sooner appointment. Negative experience: The care received was ok. Make sure you ask about any billing and pricing prior to receiving services. Took my kiddos for a standard every six months exam that is covered by insurance. However. I wasn’t told that certain things weren’t covered until after the services were rendered. I asked to be billed so that I would have the opportunity to review the charges. Initially I was told no and then forced to put a credit card on file. The probability of me returning is slim. Very unprofessional.

Fantastic experience: We love St. Louis Pediatric Dentistry! They always are very accommodating to my daughters gag reflexes when getting x-rays. They've had 2 DA's assist so one can press the button, and the other take out the mouth piece as soon as possible. And this last time, they used the smallest size possible! My daughter is also afraid of the dentist in general, and they are always so kind, gentle, and talk her through everything they are doing. We've never had to wait very long to get our appts started or see the Dr.

Fantastic experience: It was a really good experience and would recommend it to anyone going for the kiddos first time . They handled my son very kindly and patiently when he needed time to warm up to the idea of people looking at his teeth and didn't try forcing anything he wasn't comfortable with. Plus it was by far one of the shortest waiting periods from checking in to getting in a room to actually seeing the dentist so that was nice for me and my son who don't sit still for very long .

Fantastic experience: We’ve had two visits and both times were great! The staff is friendly and fast. They explained what they were doing on my daughter’s first visit and when she got nervous, they stopped and talked her through it. And after the visit she got a new toothbrush, a toy, a balloon and a popsicle. She was very excited about all of that!

Fantastic experience: It was my daughter’s first appointment (which she wasn’t the easiest patient that day) and I really enjoyed this office. Everyone from the desk admin to the hygenist to the doctor were all so kind, patient, and understanding.

Negative experience: The hygienists are always great. I always see a different dentist . I have gone to this practice since my children were little . My daughter just turned 17 last month and I was told to find another dentist now - she can’t come back . No warning . I felt like that was kind of abrupt . I expected that at 18.

Fantastic experience: I can’t say enough about this group! They are absolutely amazing. My son had a cavity filled and they explained everything that was happening in a fun way to my son so he wouldn’t be so scared for the procedure. They truly care about their patients and you can tell they really love what they do! Thank you for being so professional

Fantastic experience: The new office space is very open and bright. The kid friendly shows and decor feels welcoming to the kids. My daughter has been going here for nine years and has seen both doctors who are very friendly and compassionate. They take time to listen and answer questions. I find that the dental assistants are good and thorough but are racing onto the next patient and lack personality for a pediatric facility. Overall I’d recommend.

Negative experience: My children have never received services from this particular dentist before. But today I took one of my 17-year-old boys there to have a cavity filled and was promptly notified that he could no longer come back because they couldn’t meet his dental needs and they could give me a referral. The dentist talked to the dental assistant the entire time about weekend plans and wasn’t personable at all. Again, not my experience any other time but today was horrible.

Fantastic experience: My son is autistic and very nervous about the dentist. Things went much better because this was his second visit, but he still struggled with the x-rays. The workers were so kind and understanding. When the dentist came in, she described everything she was doing and kept praising my son for being so brave. They were able to do so much more for my son than I expected, all because of their kindness!

Fantastic experience: This place is wonderful! It’s a very bright and happy place with super cute paintings all over the walls. Everyone is friendly, professional, and SO patient. Our daughter really struggles with this process and they are very understanding and flexible. Thank you!!

Fantastic experience: The staff made my son's first dentist appointment so smooth and comfortable. He is typically a pretty shy/apprehensive kid so I was expecting him to be afraid, but everything was explained to him so well and everyone was so kind and gentle with him. He loved the whole experience.

Fantastic experience: We greatly appreciate St. Louis pediatric dentistry! The staff is so friendly and patient with our three rambunctious boys. Their hours are convenient and make scheduling easier for us busy parents. They make dentist trips for our kiddos not a terrible and scary experience - in fact they enjoy going!

Negative experience: The office staff is not friendly or understanding. My insurance info changed for the year and they called me with less than 24 hours notice to inform me that I need to have it updated by 24 hours prior to the appointment or I would be charged a $25 cancelation fee per kid. Well clearly that’s no longer possible to avoid he fee considering they waited till after the 24 hour point to even obtain insurance info so they are clearly setting you up to be charged. I did not have my insurance card on me at the time of the call so I told them I would call them back with it when I got home however before I made it home, I had broke my phone and couldn’t call them so I went to the phone store to get the phone fixed and after I got my phone fixed, I called them immediately and gave them the insurance information. They ran and told me that the policy number was not correct. Immediately, I started searching for the correct policy number, but since our benefit year just rolled over, the dental insurance company had not sent us our new card yet. I called the office back and explained to them that I do not have the new insurance card yet so without that, I do not know the new policy number and asked if I could reschedule for a different day. They said sure but you’re gonna have to pay $25 per kid for canceling. I understand the concept for having a cancellation policy, HOWEVER, in a situation like this, it is completely absurd for a business to charge you that fee, knowing that not having my insurance card mailed to me was completely out of my hands. They were not concerned about being helpful. They should be calling patients prior to the 24 mark to prevent patients from getting nailed with a fee that is so unnecessary. I tried to explain this to the office manager who was not willing to come to a mutual agreement on the situation. She did not care so I requested to speak to one of the dentists being that they are the ones that came up with the policy to begin with. I wanted to have the chance to explain to the Dr that yes, I understand the reasoning for the policy but sometimes there are situations out of the patients control. She informed me that none of the Dentists would give me a call back and have a conversation but I could send an email if I chose to do so but that was my only option. Let me just say, I live in O’Fallon and there is literally a dentist on every block of town so I will gladly just take my business elsewhere and not deal with people that have are petty and have rules that they are beyond strict about with zero exceptions. I also don’t care to do business with people who have rude office staff. People shouldn’t be treated that way. Sad to see they are so willing to cut ties and lose patients over $25 dollars. I have three kids so they are losing 3 patients and instead gaining a negative review instead.

Fantastic experience: OMG, I can not say enough wonderful things about this place! They are great with my kiddo (and me) from the reception desk to the Assistants and doctors. On our last visit, their computer systems went down (IT, amiright?? LOL) and they were all so kind to be concerned with our time, apologizing, and offering solutions. I wasn't upset in the least, stuff happens out of our control. I'd wait in line to have them care for my kiddo. Fortunately for them (I know the struggle of a down computer system), they got everything fixed quickly and I got a call later that same morning. They got us back in the next morning (my choice, or we could wait - again, very accommodating) and we finished my kids treatment. She was pleased because she got 2 days worth of prizes and Popsicles! Great job to everyone there You all are amazing and so appreciated

Positive experience: The staff was amazing with my 10 year old! Although, I feel as if the dentist could have been a little more personable. Overall a great pediatric dentistry !

Positive experience: I have been taking my kids here for years and everyone has been great. But these lasts few times have not been so great. I guess they have new staff and they are not very friendly at all or patient with kids. The receptionist is not friendly and shows no emotion on her face. The girl that cleaned my kids teeth just seemed annoyed and rushed through their cleaning and literally took like 3 minutes on them which Everytime we have gone the girls take their time, the one girl that took my daughter back for X-rays was not patient or compassionate and made my 6 year old cry. Like I said we never had issues until recently. The dentist are great and very nice. I wish they would hire kid friendly staff. I mean it is a pediatric office!

Positive experience: Scheduling is hit and miss. I talk to someone on the phone to schedule and the appointment is either misentered or not entered. If you can get past the front desk service is fine and my kids enjoy going to the dentist.

Negative experience: I hate to have to express the truth because we loved this practice since I started taking my kids here years ago. But at my kids last cleaning lots of tartar was left behind on my 4 year olds teeth. I ended up taking her to another dentist for another opinion on why it didn't come off during her cleaning and this new dentist was able to scrap it right off within seconds and said it just wasn't cleaned properly. The assistant that cleaned her teeth nor the doctor who did the exam caught this at STL Peds. I was very disappointed as I have had nothing but good experiences here in the past. I am highly considering pulling my kids from the practice and taking them somewhere where we don't feel like just a number.

Negative experience: I honestly don’t think I would take my kids back. The day before my daughter’s appointment I was home sick with Covid but my daughter was fine. Went to school the day of her appointment and was sent home sick from school 1 hour before school let out. I called the dentist as soon as I hung up the phone with the school and on my way to get my daughter. I was told there was a $100 dollar fee for canceling but they could wave it this time. They asked me to reschedule but I said no thank you my kids won’t be back. They’re are many other dentist out there that would much rather me not bring my child to an appointment if she just got sent home sick and possibly had Covid like myself. $100 fee? That’s just plain greed. No Buisness like that will ever get my money. One more thing. Dr Lindsey is not good with kids at all. I requested that my daughter not see her again. They assured me she wouldn’t see her anymore. Brought my some in that is 12 four month later and guess who we got? Dr Lindsey and she was the same with my son. Very very unprofessional. As a matter of fact she was talking to the lady next to her and said what about sealants and I heard the lady say we don’t want them. Then I seen Dr Lindsey look at the computer screen and said o it’s out of pocket that’s why they don’t want them. It’s only $40 dollars so that wasn’t the case . I had them do sealants on my son once before and they gagged him and he threw up all over the room. So when Dr Lindsey walked out I asked the lady why she would act like we were cheap and wasn’t doing it do to the out of pocket expense and she covered for her and said she was talking about someone else. She does not belong in a dentist office working with kids.

Fantastic experience: It was hard finding a dentist for my girls when they were younger. The whole being scared of going to the dentist was never a thing for me, but very real for my girls. STL Pediatric Dentistry in O'Fallon made my girls feel comfortable, which helped alleviate those dentist fears. Now older, they still get some anxiety when going to the dentist, but the minute we walk in, I can see a confidence build in them. It all starts with the smiles that greet us and the step-by-step explanations from the dental hygienists. All the dentists at this practice are great.

Negative experience: After a visit in October-I realized this office had become far too busy. After moving they really lost their personal touch. Also, my child had 2 cavities that they were unable to schedule her for 3 months. I was referred to the Chesterfield office- it was slightly less time to schedule my child. They have now cancelled us due to inclement weather (expecting less than one inch). It will be close to 5 months to have both cavities filled. Very unapologetic - very disappointing. UPDATE - We are moving from this dentist. Another pediatric dentist is able to schedule my child within 2 weeks. After reading the other reviews - I’m thankful she didn’t have her fillings done here.

Negative experience: So I'm torn, we've been coming here for about 4 years. Our sons love coming here. We used to Love coming here until yesterday 10/19/23. We have a combination of things that took place little bit of blame to go around for everyone but more on the part of Dr Lindsey who is supposed to be professional. Yesterday my youngest went in and he does have some anxiety issues, but he never displayed them at the dentist before. We’ve also never had Dr.Lindsey before, he was having two cavities filled. He said “ow” A LOT as she was putting the needle into his gums he said ow when she was trying to drill he kept saying “It hurts, it hurts” he kept screaming. Obviously he wasn't numb enough to be worked on yet So his anxiety kicked in, and he became “uncooperative” ( her words) because he was in pain. It took me a few hours to process what all happened and sort it all out of my head. I also called two friends of mine that are dentists (Adult not Pediatric ) to see if I was wrong for being upset with my son for not acting right at the doctors office. Both agreed that Dr. Lindaey did not handle the situation well at all. At some point if she was frustrated, she should’ve left the room came back and tried to reapproach, and let the patient sit up, blow their nose and calm down, OR get another dentist on staff, but she did not do that. She didn’t give the patient time to calm down and gather themselves then Reapproach. She kept saying that he was “uncooperative”and that she cannot go forward AFTER she started drilling. He’s seven years old. She seemed to immediately dismiss him. Now we have to do sedation surgery, which now costs more money. He was upset all night about the incident. Usually, if something upsets him he will drop it after a while BUT when he goes on about it all night 8 plus hours into the next morning it's a big deal a something is really off. We now have to work to convince him, the dentist office is really safe and they really care about him because he doesn’t feel that way now, I can't say I blame him. It just makes it harder for the next dentist that will work on him. I’m not sure if she was frustrated having a bad day or what. My son is also biracial. I don’t know if his race had something to do with it, I’m just not sure what happened. The young ladies at the front desk were nice very gentle, very kind they helped to calm me & him down because I was upset. A big shout out to those 2( I didn't get there names I'm sorry) They gave me the paperwork for sedation dentistry and told me exactly what to do to fill it out. Step by step very clear Instructions. I called back the next day to get a timeline of how soon he can get his procedure done to take care of all the cavities at one time because he has to have braces done ( Dr Lindsey was dismissive he would be a candidate for braces) We just had a orthodontist visit the day before because crowded mouth and excessive cavities runs on one side of our family and his brother is in Orthodontist care as well. In our conversation, I found out Dr. Lindsey also does sedation dentistry so now I’m suspicious, are we being pushed to sedation dentistry for extra profit or are we going down this road because he really needs to. Again we’ve never had an issue with him at a dentist office and he seven years old until yesterday. All of the assistants are friendly and inviting. They have a TV screen in the ceiling so when you lay back, you can watch a movie or cartoon and offer a relaxing environment. Yesterday was not relaxing. Edit: After reading another review, I think there’s a pattern with Dr Lindsey Reed.

Negative experience: I have visited St. Louis Pediatric Dentistry 3 times for specific procedures for my daughter. They aren't my primary dentist, but because she's small, my dentist recommended a pediatric dentist for a couple extractions and fillings. 1st visit- This was our consultation, it was a good visit, they were very straightforward. 2nd visit-My daughters appointment was to have a molar removed. This was the most horrible experience I've ever had at a dentist. My husband, kids and I got to the dentist religiously every 6 months and I now understand how a bad experience can scare a kid from ever wanting to go to the dentist again. My daughter has now had 4 molars extracted, 2 from a previous dentist (no longer in network) and 2 from St. Louis Pediatric Dentistry. Prior to this appointment she hadn't flinched or moved during an extraction. The dentist was in the room for approximately 10 minutes and was there to pull a tooth, there was absolutely no conversation to make my daughter feel comfortable. During the tooth removal she screamed and cried while they held her hands to extract the tooth. I asked the dentist (Dr. Lindsey Reed) if she was numb enough during the process, she assured me she was. Afterward, as I was visibly upset, the dentist said that it was probably best for my daughter to have anesthesia for the next extraction as some kids don't handle the tugging well. I explained how she has had previous perfect experiences with extractions, and something didn't go right this time. The dentist responded by letting me know that she understands there is a lack of trust between the dentist and I. Both my daughter and I left the office crying. Thank goodness for the hygienist, she did her best to make me feel better about the next visit. Watching your daughter hurt when it could've been avoided is the worst feeling a mother could feel. I wouldn't have kept my 3rd appointment there but the hygienist assured me it would be different. I trusted her, so I kept it and dreaded coming back. That evening my daughter was very sore, we needed to use Tylenol twice, this was also different from her previous two extractions. 3rd visit-1 week after her first extraction, my daughter and I were both very nervous and I was worried I shouldn't have come back. What a difference a dentist (Dr. Jane Witt) can make. This appointment was completely different than the 2nd visit. The hygienist was the same, who was great. The dentist was gentle and talked to my daughter and I the whole time. She made her feel safe and took her time in both her extraction and fillings. My daughter didn't move during the entire visit and didn't have pain later that evening. If I had to go by our second visit, my review would have been a 1. Thank goodness for Dr. June who made her last experience so very much different.

Fantastic experience: St. Louis Pediatric Dentistry is hands down the BEST pediatric dental office EVER!!!!! We just LOVE Dr Lindsey and Evan Reed. We have followed them from their Des Peres, Chesterfield and now O Fallon locations. When you find someone who is so gentle and kind and truly love what they do and it shows, you want to stick with them.I can’t say enough about about our doctors or the their staff. It’s just a great place to take your little ones.

Positive experience: This is the fastest appt I have ever had. The hygienist was doing her thing for like 2 mins and the DDS was in and out in less. Fast is good but not when it brings concern for how thorough the check up was. My daughter has good teeth so it was probably an easy case for the staff.

Keysha Stewart 2 years ago

Negative experience: The Dr. Is great. The staff not so much. We showed up on time but didn't get taken back until half hour later but that wasn't until I had to go up front and ask if I had the time right. The receptionist had to go back and see. As soon as she went back we were taken back immediately but then we noticed all the hygienist standing in there break room laughing and talking with each other. This wouldn't be a big deal but when you are running on a schedule and the waiting room is full with no seating and there are no kids getting taken back and the hygienist are just standing around laughing. That's the issue. Parents are also on a schedule and don't have time waiting for other people to do their job right.

Fantastic experience: My son had a serious facial trauma that knocked out 1 molar, 3 half sticking out of his gums. He has soft tissue damage and lose permanent teeth. I called and got in an emergency slot. The hygienists were amazing at getting X-rays right after we walked in and seeing his mouth. Dr Amy came in and explained the damage, treatment plan, follow up, things to look out for and future potential complications. They fit us in for him to get his treatment that day due to the extensive damage to his teeth and pain he was in. Dr. Amy had a full office and was still able to assist us. The hygienist worked with my sons pain and anxiety to make him comfortable. We are very grateful for the team! Thank you again!

Positive experience: I normally love this practice, but today was a rough one. My child had a cavity filled. She’s normally a strong young lady but today they had her mouth pulled so tightly open that her lips split all the way across and bled the entire time. She kept saying owe and crying because of how far they had her mouth stretched. She didn’t even feel the cavity treatment but the entire other process was very hard on her. The tech and dr never asked what hurt or to point to the area. They just assumed it was her tooth and kept moving along. It broke my heart to see her have her first bad dentist appointment. We will continue for cleanings there but I just hope the communication between patient and staff is better. Thank you

Fantastic experience: Can't say enough nice things - really wonderful experience for toddler's first time. Staff was extremely patient and friendly and did a fantastic job working with her. Going over all the tools, letting her check them out and then performing a little check up on the doll she brought with her first. They seemed like people who liked kids and then got into dentistry rather than dentistry people who happen to work with kids.

Negative experience: From someone who use to work in pediatric dental this place is NOT it. The Dr. was actually super nice however the staff not so much. The hygienist that cleaned my children’s teeth (3 and 7) was not that friendly. I feel like if you are going to work with kids you need to be over the top friendly to make them feel comfortable. I will sadly not be returning.

Liz Smith 3 years ago

Negative experience: Terrible experience for my 2 year old son. Not only did we have to wait over an hour past his appointment to be called back, once we finally got in the room we had to sit there and wait 20 more mins for a 5 min appointment. By this point my son was so worked up from crying for so long he was hyperventilating. Needless to say we will be going somewhere for any future appointments.

April Meyers 3 years ago

Negative experience: Edit: I did call and ask for treatment twice and was refused “until patient was up to date on services”. I was forced to schedule a routine cleaning and complete that service before I was allowed to schedule a consult for treatment. My sons was treated safely by another office and was not forced to jump through hoops to receive pain-relieving care. My children have been patients at this practice since 2012. I was concerned the last time we were there as they have greatly reduced their level of customer service in favor of making patients make multiple appointments for services that can easily be completed in one. The final straw was today when my son needed to be seen for an abscess and since he was 2 months past due for his cleaning, they refused to see him until his cleaning was complete. I asked to schedule the cleaning but to be seen for the abscess (orthodontist diagnosed) asap and was told “their policy was to not see or schedule any procedures if patient isn’t up to update with cleanings”. I asked for an exception since my son was in pain, nobody would even consider helping since it was against policy. I cancelled the cleaning appointment and removed my children from their care and taking them to see my dentist. I am dumbfounded that they were so insensitive to my son’s pain. It’s preposterous that is accepted as acceptable treatment of a 9 year old patient that is in pain.

St. Louis Pediatric Dentistry

April, thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. Without an exam and x-rays, we are unable to complete treatment in a safe manner, as we would be treating blind and if abscessed, they may need an antibiotic prior to treatment. Our office staff is not allowed to offer & schedule treatment without a treatment plan proposed by a doctor, since they are unsure of what the patient actually needs. We value your feedback and would like to address your concerns directly. Please contact us at (636) 244-2620. Thank you.
