Fantastic experience: Dr McDonald is the best! He has been our best Dentist. Whenever My kids have needed teeth pulled he always helped them feel very comfortable and calm. I highly recommend him!

Negative experience: I'd give Dr Smith and his assistants 5 stats but his office staff bring them down to one. We have been seeing Dr Smith for almost 20 years. His billing staff does not seem capable of giving accurate billing. I pay at time of service as requested and majority of the time I get a bill later for way more than I'd ever expect. It's a nasty surprise and makes me wonder if they ever even talk to insurance companies beforehand.

Fantastic experience: They handled our five children like champions. For whatever reason our kids were excited about the “no flavor” toothpaste. They had others our kids are just weird. Seriously though, we’ve been coming here for years and never had a bad experience.

Fantastic experience: I can't say enough good things about this office—they're truly amazing! Over the past few years, they've been a constant source of support for my son, who is autistic (level 3) and non-verbal. Every visit, the staff's patience and understanding shine through, making our time there so much easier. If there’s one thing that could make our experience even better, it would be shorter wait times. For families with special needs, this would mean a world of difference, helping to make appointments smoother and more stress-free.

Fantastic experience: I saw a post of the annual free cleaning day at Smart Pediatric Dental. Totally took advantage of that. my kids had the best experience! Not only was the cleaning free, but they also did sealants! We do have to go back for fillings, but they offered a discount. The staff were so fun and so nice! I highly recommend taking your kids there. My 4yr old loved being there and wants to go back everyday!

Fantastic experience: They do checkups for kids under 3 for free but this is the highest level care we’ve received for our daughter. They were so kind and gentle and made it such a positive experience

Negative experience: I have never met a Dental staff so impersonal or rude in my life. The front Desk was short, rude, couldn’t find my info and when she finally did, she didn’t apologize. The Dental assistant questioned my kids hygiene when I make them brush twice daily and rolled her eyes when I said so. It’s sad because the Dentist was awesome. The staff surrounding him is less than sub par. I won’t be coming back with my kids.

Fantastic experience: We LOVE this dentist!! My kids ask to go all the time. They are always so fast and fun and my kids love the prizes and movies they get to watch during! Dr. Macdonald is great with my boys and the hygienists are all great too.

Fantastic experience: I was blown away with Smart Pediatric Dentistry! My oldest fractured a tooth into at least four different pieces Monday everting, and after frantically calling around for an available appointment I decided to go with Smart for the next morning. Tuesday we were seen, Thursday we came in to get the tooth pulled. As a first-time mom when it comes to any medical emergency, I was kinda a mess and I was SO impressed my our dentist McDonald and the anesthesiologist Alex and how good they were with my little girl. They made it seem so normal to need to pull a 3-year-old’s fractured/broken tooth and my daughter asked if we could go back again soon I loved how they gave me all the options with their recommendations but let me decide every step of the way with no pressure or guilt. I would trust them with my kids any day. Amazing business!

Negative experience: We went in for a checkup and this place came recommended by our old dentist for my son. They on the first visit they were trying to push us to spend a bunch of money to extract baby teeth that were on their way out. I won’t be going back.

Negative experience: I’ve been taking my two children to this clinic for over 5 years, but after this experience we won’t be returning. In January, I took my kids in for their regular cleaning. A month later, the office called to say our insurance didn’t cover it and I had to pay about $200 out of pocket, which I did in February. In June, I called my insurance company for something else and discovered they had in fact covered the visit and already paid the clinic. When I called the office back, they admitted they had received the payment and told me I would get a refund in about a month. Since then, it has been nothing but delays. I followed up in July (no refund), in early August (still no refund), and at the end of August they claimed a check was sent on 8/29. By Now it’s 9/19, still nothing. I don’t believe any domestic mail should take over three weeks. What’s most disappointing is that no one ever called me with updates, no one apologized, and if I hadn’t discovered the insurance payment myself in June, I doubt they would have ever told me I was overcharged. This feels dishonest and unprofessional. It should not be this difficult to get my own money back.

Fantastic experience: Yesterday was our first time here. I was impressed! It is a bright and fun office for kids. All the staff were helpful and kind to me and my children and very knowledgeable. The kids got to watch movies while their teeth were cleaned and got a prize afterwards along with cute character toothbrushes!

Fantastic experience: We sure appreciate the Drs, Hygienist and staff. They make visits easy and comfortable. I’m so impressed with the way they handle young kids. They do great explaining the process in easy to understand vocabulary so the kids are comfortable and stress free. My kids really enjoy going to this office. They aren’t afraid of the dentist! That’s a huge win.

Fantastic experience: I brought my three daughters to this location since 2013 when the clinic was still across the street. Now only my youngest daughter is coming here. She had her wisdom teeth removed yesterday. The staff is amazing! Attentively to her care, from the beginning until the end. Each one of them had shown their patience and professionalism, being able to be friendly at the same time. The doctors are the best in the area, they take care of their patients like a family. We’re so lucky and grateful to have know this place. Thank you for all you do!

Because of the great bedside manner of Drs and staff there is very little anxiety and I leave feeling well informed.

Fantastic experience: My review below was over a year ago, I wanted to update my review because over the weekend my daughter had a lot of tooth pain, and Dr. Smith returned my phone call minutes after calling after hours and took care of our needs. Fantastic experience: Absolutely great experience! We Loved Dr. Smith and the CRNA Matt Newbury! They were both so great with my 4 year old and made us both feel at ease while being there. It was not stressful for either of us (me or my son) They were very informative and told me what to expect from the beginning and were there after the procedure was finished. The CRNA came in frequently after the procedure to check in until we were ready to leave. Cannot say enough good things about this place! I Highly recommend!

Our kids trust him completely, and so do we. The entire staff is just as wonderful—friendly, patient, and always so welcoming. From the front desk to the assistants, everyone helps create a warm, stress-free environment that makes a big difference for both kids and parents. Dr. Smith is not only great with children, but he also takes the time to explain things clearly and answer questions without ever rushing. Fantastic experience: I was in and out with three children’s teeth cleaned in under an hour! They are amazing! Dr. MacDonald is patient with my children, one of which has Autism, all of which have ADHD and Anxiety.

Fantastic experience: Brought my son in and we love Dr. Macdonald. He is 2 and definitely not a fan of someone checking his teeth but Dr. Macdonald was so good and my son didn't even cry during the check up.

Fantastic experience: The receptionists are kind and helpful, the office is clean and beautiful, and the dentist is great (Dr. Smith)! He talks to you about any concerns and addresses any upcoming issues and is friendly and really listens. He is honest and isn’t trying to get money out of you by doing procedures that are not actually necessary. Aesthetic things he gives options and his opinion but doesn’t pressure you into anything. It is a great place and I'm happy to take my kids there! They make people feel comfortable even though a dentist office isn’t always the most comfortable setting.

Fantastic experience: Took my 2 year old to his first dentist appointment here. It was so great! He got his teeth cleaned by Kiera who was SO great. She was patient with him and made him feel so comfortable. The dentist let him sit on my lap while he put the fluoride in, and then he got to pick a prize. They made it fun enough that afterwards he wouldn’t stop talking about it and is excited to go back!

Fantastic experience: Great experience. Very friendly doctor and tech. Great with the kids and making them feel as comfortable as possible. Doctor made me feel very informed of situation, options and his recommendation. My six year old ended up needing a root canal and crown. She wasn’t up for it even after the numbing but Doctor wasn’t forceful when she wouldn’t cooperate. Assistant was incredible and talked to my daughter the whole time to try and calm her down. When she wasn’t having it, Doctor recommended alternative options and we rescheduled the procedure. It really was a great experience as a parent.

Fantastic experience: We’ve been coming here for 15 years. Dr. Smith and his staff are always so kind and patient with my kids especially when they were younger. They take their time and explain what they’re doing to ease my kids nerves.

Fantastic experience: Staff was extremely professional in great with my toddler! My 2-year-old toddler is extremely shy and does not handle unfamiliar places well. Our visit went extremely well and the Doctor was able to examine my child's mouth with minimal discomfort to my child. He was very clear in explaining the diagnosis and what can be done. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: After my kids having a very bad experience with our last dentist and his assistance, we switched to Smart Pediatric. Best decision we could've possibly made! The front desk staff is very friendly, helpful and patient, the assistance are absolutely amazing and welcoming and always make my little boys feel comfortable. We've worked with a few different dentists, and Dr. Tidwell is by far our favorite! My little boys actually look forward to going to the dentist now! Fantastic experience: Dr. Bower did a great job explaining what he was seeing on the x-rays and while doing the check-up. He gave us a clear action plan and suggested several options so we could do what we felt comfortable with. His dental hygienist was super friendly and great with my kids as well. Overall, very happy with our experience and glad we chose this dentist office!

Fantastic experience: Every time I enter this office, they are professional and kind to my very nervous daughter. They also do not over charge, and quoted me a way cheaper price than other dentist offices I'd been to with my daughter. They are thorough, and get the job done. Which is what I've been looking for in a dentist for her and I both. Wish they weren't just pediatric dentists. The visits are usually great, and I can rely on them to do a good job.

Fantastic experience: Our little one has only been twice, for routine under 2 years old visits and so far I am very pleased. The appointments are very quick since he is so little but the staff are knowledgeable, patient, and great at putting our little one at ease. They always take time to make sure any questions or concerns that we have are answered and never rush us. Updated: Our oldest now gets more detailed checks where he gets in the actual chair while they use instruments in his mouth and it is just as well handled as before. He is genuinely excited to go to the dentist and they have fun tokens that the kids can use in the prize machines afterwards.

Fantastic experience: All the staff is friendly! The environment is fun and comfortable. The dentist, Dr. Gollaher, was knowledgeable and patient! The anesthesiologist, Dr. Knudsen, was phenomenal!

Fantastic experience: I had the most incredible experience here. Everyone was so patient and kind. I have a 2 year old who was born at 26 weeks. Both she and I have major PTSD when it comes to doctors or any sort of forceful prodding. The dental assistants were insanely respectful of our situation and so patient with myself and my daughter! They really care about their clients! Thank you for making us feel safe!

Positive experience: The dentists are great. The dental heigenist who has long redish hair does not have any reason to be working with kids... didn't say a word to my kids, no smile, not a word to me, and the dentist had to reclean my kids teeth after she did...

Fantastic experience: Amazing Ped. Dentist. First time check up visit after my other dentist retired. Less than 5 min wait after checking in. Clean, friendly, very up to date, TVs on ceilings in each very spacious room. The dentist was great with my little one and we were in and out in less than 20 minutes. If I could give 10 stars I would.

Fantastic experience: The nurse was so good at playing pretend with my 3 year old! I was really worried because she hates opening her mouth at the doctors. The dentist was kind and efficient, but the assistant went above and beyond my expectations!

Fantastic experience: My son had a dental emergency on the weekend. With a voice message and some texting we were quickly seen. During the same week he needed an unplanned visit and the office was able to get us seen and have my son’s needs met. Our dentist was out of town when our emergency happened. We have seen 3 different Dentist during the week. We have been extremely pleased with our entire experience!!

Negative experience: We've been going here for several years with 3 kids but after our last meeting with them we will be changing dentists. The receptionist on 11/8 was extremely rude. We were running late because of unusually heavy traffic from an accident, so we called to inform them and ask if we should still come. They told us it wouldn't be a problem and to keep coming. Once we arrived, 13 minutes past the originally appointment time, they told us they could only see 2 of the 3 and that they didn't have enough time because of how booked they were and because we were late. I asked who I talked to on the phone. The receptionist, very snotty-like, told us they sent out plenty of text reminders about the appt and that they didn't have to accommodate us because we were late. I obviously should have known to give myself another 30 minutes due to the unpredictable accident on the highway. Silly me for not predicting the future. I should have just known my usual 12 minute drive would take 45 today. What I understand is that those 13 minutes, which I called and asked about in advance if we should still come in, were more important than any of my future business. I'm a paying customer with my paid insurance and I'll be treated like one at my dentist.

Fantastic experience: Definitely gonna keep going here! They were so nice and patient my 2yr old was actually willing to get her teeth cleaned and would probably be excited to come back :) they were also willing to answer any questions I had and felt like they genuinely cared!

Fantastic experience: We have been going here for the past 16 years with my children. They’ve always have had a good experience. Great atmosphere and Dr Smith has been a great dentist. Only 1x out of those 16 years has a child told me that getting their teeth cleaned and flossed hurt. All the other times it’s been great.

Fantastic experience: We came in thinking that our son had a tooth infection, they were able to get us in the same day we called. We were able to see that there was no infection and he'd be fine. The staff was very friendly and our kids absolutely loved their visit! We'll be back in the near future :)

Fantastic experience: Clean, friendly, on time with appointment...Dr Chad is always super friendly, very knowledgeable, and gives helpful tips with ways to avoid cavities with the different types of teeth my kids have, along with braces. Kylie was our hygienist and was also super nice, answered all our questions, and made the experience super fun for my boys. Highly recommend this place!

Fantastic experience: We’ve had a very good experience with Smart Pediatric Dentistry. Our boys are autistic and brushing teeth has been, at best, difficult. Dental visits have the potential to be traumatic for all involved, and they have been somewhat rough at times, but the dentists and dental assistants have been so patient and understanding, and they work really hard to make it a positive experience for our kids. The dentists we’ve worked with have given us great advice for getting teeth cleaned at home with our kid’s special circumstances, and they’ve taken great care of our boys when they’ve needed to get work done. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: We love Smart Pediatric Dentistry! The staff and dentists are all super friendly and helpful. Plus we have always have very minimal wait times and they are so efficient! All 4 of my kiddos (ages 3-10) were able to get their cleanings done in about 45 minutes, which was great because we were short on time, and I still felt like they were very thorough. They also do a great job helping my kids feel comfortable. We would definitely recommend!

Fantastic experience: We love smart dentistry! I called in the morning to schedule an apt for my baby's lip tie, they had an opening in 20 minutes. While there they assessed and released the lip tie on the spot. It was all very fast and I appreciated the knowledgeable staff as well.

My daughter has always waited anxiously for her appointment with the dentist because she loves it, For a mother it is very important that her little daughter is not afraid to go to the dentist, we are almost to the last appointment for her, at the pediatric dentist, we will miss seeing Dr Macdonald

Fantastic experience: Our 4 year old boy has been known to be difficult like his sister. We were hoping it would be a good day for him and that he would have a good experience without anesthesia. Not only was he good! He enjoyed going to the dentist! And no cavities as well. The good vibes were carried over to his younger brother…. So yea we will be coming back again soon.

Fantastic experience: My son has autism and has such a hard time with sensory issues. The hygienist Ethan had amazing patience with my son, made the experience as good as possible for him and even made me laugh a few times (which is a miracle cause taking my son to the dentist is my worst nightmare). The dentist was also amazing with him. We’ve never had a bad experience here but today was especially great.

Positive experience: My daughter had a great experience overall, and we will be back for additional dental work. I rate it a 4 instead of a 5, simply because I did expect the hygienists and dental staff to be a little more kid friendly. As someone who works with kids, I had a higher expectation for the relationship building and helping to make them feel calm and excited about the dentist, and I didn't feel that. They were kind and professional, but I was a little disappointed they did go more out of their way for my young daughters first experience.

Fantastic experience: Fabulous place! We had an awesome experience today with all four of our little kids. We’ve been here twice now and we’ll definitely be returning for years to come. Update: We’ve been coming here for 4 years now and every time has been a great experience. They are good with kids of all ages and the office is clean, bright and nicely decorated. Dr. McDonald has been fabulous and takes the time to discuss treatment options with me.

Fantastic experience: Smart Pediatric Dentistry has been our go to for years and they just keep getting better. They know how to accommodate large families. I had five kids in there today and they had us out in less than 45 minutes, with cleanings, x rays and an exam. Fantastic experience: We’ve been going to Smart Pediatric Dentistry in Pleasant Grove since my oldest was 2 and they are simply the best. So good with kids, patient, fun and helpful. The office is always clean and entertaining for kids.

Fantastic experience: My kids get excited every time I tell them we’re going to the dentist. The staff is incredibly kind and very accommodating. Dr. Smith is amazing! And the little token they get at the end, believe or not, makes a big difference haha. Love this office!

Fantastic experience: This place is awesome. Everyone is so kind and patient, everything was made so easy for stubborn little toddlers and if something went wrong it was no big deal. The dentist was kind and thorough and answered all of my questions. They have a super fun prize system at the end where they give the kids a special coin and they put it into old school machines and out pops a toy. Loved it. Definitely going back.

Positive experience: Dr was great! Hygenists great! And my kids love the service they get! However, I was treated so poorly by the girl checking me out. She was short, unwilling to listen about our split family situation where my step daughter has insurance and wouldn’t work with me and let me pay for my child and figure out insurance for my SD. She was so incredibly rude and I’m truly floored how that was allowed especially when someone was sitting next to her. Super terrible personality and customer service skills.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Tidwell is amazing! My four year old had to get a tooth extracted and he was the best. He made her feel so calm and it couldn’t have gone better. Thank you!
