Fantastic experience: The staff is very friendly and welcoming. One member even said good morning. The team here is attentive and caring with the children. Allowing kids to get acquainted and comfortable with the surroundings of the service as well as the tools for their cleaning and exams. They were patient with both my two kids (2 & 4 year olds). The service is quick and efficient. Would recommend to all parents. Look forward to the 6 month follow up.

Fantastic experience: Everyone there is very helpful and great with the kids my daughter has seen 3 other dentist before coming here and all of the other places she went she wouldn’t allow them to actually look into her mouth so this place is great! they made her comfortable there was no wait in line and they gave me a good idea as to what to expect for her future with the dentist (braces cavities etc.)

Fantastic experience: Finally found the one! They were so good with my kids. Patient, not pushy, and encouraging! Facility is fun and squeaky clean. The dentist and hygienists were super good with my kids and it makes them excited to go back! 20 out of 10!

Fantastic experience: The front desk is very helpful with scheduling and insurance questions. They text and call about upcoming appointment's. My kids have had teeth pulled, cleaning, braces, and now retainers. The entire staff knows how to comfort the kids and are great in explaining the procedures that they will be performing. All of the staff is knowledgeable and are great at expressing the benefits of good teeth heigene. Very friendly staff as well and great service.

Fantastic experience: Love this place and how great they are with kids especially the 1 year old ones.

Negative experience: I took my 4-year-old here for what turned out to be a very small cavity. From the start, I felt uneasy with the recommendations. At first, the dentist said the tooth needed to be completely removed and replaced with a fake tooth, but when I asked to see the X-ray, it clearly looked like a surface-level cavity. After I raised my concern, the plan suddenly changed to just a sealant. When we came back for the procedure, I asked if I could stand by my child (just holding his hand from a distance since it was his first time and he was nervous). The dentist refused in a very rude tone, which made the situation feel even more stressful. There was no effort to guide or reassure my child through the process—equipment was just brought out and used without explanation. They put the oxygen mask on crooked, gave him a shot, and when my son understandably started wiggling, the dentist immediately pushed for anesthesia, even though he was already on laughing gas. I expressed concern that this would be traumatic, but instead of talking through options, they continued to insist. The interaction felt rushed and dismissive, as if comfort wasn’t a priority. We ended up going to another pediatric dentist for a second opinion, and they confirmed the cavity was small and did not require extraction or anesthesia. My child had the procedure done there smoothly, with no problems. Parents, please be cautious. From my experience, it felt like this office was more focused on billing insurance than on what was truly necessary for my child’s care. If you want your child to feel safe, supported, and treated with care, I’d recommend looking elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: They’re great with kids. The lobby is kid-friendly and the open space is inviting for the kids to just start playing with other kids in the waiting room. They have children’s books available as well. My child is comfortable playing in the lobby until it’s time to head in. Staff and Dr. Bala are friendly and definitely have patience. It’s hit/miss if my kid will be chill or cry during the visit but it always goes well. Grateful this place exists! Not every child gets a positive dentist experience but they’ll get it here!

Negative experience: Horrible place that provides only the bare minimum of care. Instead of offering real treatment, they immediately refer patients elsewhere. They categorize children without even attempting to provide care, claiming they “might move” rather than trying. My child sat through X-rays and exams calmly, yet they still refused treatment. If you want more than a basic checkup, don’t waste your time here. Go somewhere that will actually do the work and prioritize your child’s needs. While I fully understand that a child’s safety is a priority, the care provided here is still far below expectations. My child was calm, cooperative, and sat through the X-ray and exams without issue, yet the doctor still refused to attempt the necessary fillings. Instead of trying, the assumption was immediately made that she might move—without any effort to treat her. It is also concerning that no details were shared regarding her actual dental needs. I was not informed about how many cavities she has, what procedures would be required, or what treatment plan was recommended. The default response was simply a referral, which seems to be the standard whenever insurance coverage is not ideal. Additionally, the implication that my child is in this situation because I do not care for her dental health is both offensive and unfounded. You have no knowledge of the circumstances, and to make such assumptions only reinforces the impression that patients are treated here with a dismissive, one-size-fits-all approach. Not every child is the same, and they should not all be boxed into the same category. Families deserve providers who will make an effort and offer treatment options beyond doing the bare minimum or resorting to putting a child under anesthesia for even the smallest procedures. Your response only comes across as an attempt to defend yourself rather than addressing the actual issue or providing any resolution. This does not reflect accountability or concern for patients. The so-called “5-star” rating is misleading. The reality is that this office does the bare minimum, avoids treatment, and immediately refers patients elsewhere rather than providing proper care. Parents bring their children here expecting help, not excuses, assumptions, or dismissive remarks. Until there is a real effort to listen to patients, treat each child as an individual, and provide solutions beyond referrals and anesthesia, these positive ratings mean nothing.

Fantastic experience: Me and my wife took our daughter there for a chipped tooth and he is very knowledgeable dentist he explained everything eloquently and i will give him 5 stars no 10 stars .

Fantastic experience: I’ve been taking my kids to Hercules Kids Dentistry for 8 years. We moved about 40 minutes from Hercules, but I continue to drive my kids there for their dental needs. I have three kids, and this office is always able to schedule the three of them at the same time! That’s so important to us because it frees up our schedule and allows for all three kids to get there biannual checkups all at once! Two of my kids are neurodivergent, and Doctor Bala is so patient and kind that, despite these diagnoses, my kids have no fear of the Dentist! This entire team is so wonderful! I could not recommend them more!

Fantastic experience: GREAT! I came with my three kids, 3, 8 and 10 years old. The place is impeccably clean, colorful and inviting for the kids, the staff is welcoming, very nice to the children, answering all their questions and making them and parents at ease. Dr Bala is very knowledgeable and shares recommendations without forcing unnecessary treatments. I highly recommend the Hercules Kids Dentistry by Dr Bala!

Fantastic experience: Hercules Kids Dentistry is the best! We’ve been coming here for about 7 years. The dentists and hygienists are very friendly and make the experience fun. Our kids actually look forward to going to the dentist. The office is very colorful and kid friendly with movies playing on the ceiling so the kids can watch movies while lying in the chair.

Negative experience: When your child is in a lot of pain because of a toothache and you call your dentist’s office, explain the situation and location of the pain, then they put you on hold for 5 minutes, then give you an appointment and tell you to come in the same day. And when you go there, the dentist tells you very rudely that she cannot do anything to your child that day, but they yet charge you for the office visit, that is when you know the place is a lousy practice that is not worth it. That is exactly what happened to us with this place and with Dentist NAMRATA BHULLAR, whom we felt did not want to work that day nor even knew what she was doing. And she was not even warm and kind to kids as we would expect. That is in addition to her rude, unprofessional, and talkative assistant. They could have told us on the phone that they will not be able to do anything to our child that day and save us the trip and the $52, but they did not. That was unprofessional. If my child has a dentist and that dentist is not competent enough and is not ready and is not willing to serve my child when my child needs it the most in an emergency, but is just hungry for money, then that dentist does not deserve to be called a dentist and does not deserve to be a dentist for my child and shame on such individual. And that is how we feel about this place and about Dentist NAMRATA BHULLAR.

Fantastic experience: Everyone on the team is so nice and our toddler’s cleaning went very smoothly. Waiting and exam rooms had kid friendly toys and wall art. At the end of the appt, the receptionist booked us for the next appt. Their frequent reminder texts close to the appt are appreciated!

Fantastic experience: So glad I found Hercules Kids Dentistry for my kids. We were seen before at Eastshore Pediatrics and they wanted to put my child under general anesthesia for tooth extractions. I told them no way I’m not doing that so they told me to find a second opinion at another pediatric dentist. Our first examination with Dr. Bhullar went great. I felt heard and she understood my concern as a parent. Thank you Dr. Bhullar for your evaluation and advice for my son.

Negative experience: Was willing to pay Cash because I know Delta Dental does not wasn’t to renegotiate contacts with dentists. I called for an appointment and the front desk was too lazy to look up my dental insurance with name and date of birth and refused to schedule because I did not have my member ID. You can look up Delta with just name and DOB…. I know because I am an office manger for dental practice myself. It’s too bad the front could not properly handle this call and lost a patient in the neighborhood.

Fantastic experience: My 2 year old had her first dental appointment today. I went in with no expectations of how she would do, from the ladies at the front desk when i made the appointment, to the dental assistant and dentist, everyone was reassuring that she would do fine. Both the dentist and dental assistant reassured me that theyre used to little ones crying, and my daughter did cry, but she was clearly willing to letting them look at her teeth. The dentists were able to do everything! Brush, floss, polish and flouride! I had some concerns about build up i saw on my daughters teeth and they informed me that its chromogenic bacteria which would not turn into cavities but the down side is that it has color so its visible on her teeth. Dr Bala was very informative to me on her oral hygiene and health, he was good and gentle with my daughters teeth and left it up to me if we wanted to try the polishing. I was open to it and he was able to get the build up off her teeth. Everyone here uses a gentle and reassuring tone while talking and cleaning my daughters teeth. I highly recommend this dental office if you are searching for one. Thank you Hercules Kids Dentistry! Our experience was very pleasant!

Positive experience: The staff is great. My son was having a hard time to an unfamiliar place and they did their best to make him feel comfortable. The office is kid friendly. The dentist is kind, gentle, age appropriate and very kid friendly. Communicate well with child and parents. Also makes good suggestion to better teeth health.

Fantastic experience: Grateful for the clerical and medical staff. Accommodating, personable, honest, and offers exceptional service. We have NEVER had a “difficult” visit, even with toddler, now preschool age, rambunctious twins and a preteen.

Fantastic experience: 5 stars every time. The staff are always amazing with my kids (one of the few places where I can make appointments for all three in the same day). They're gentle, welcoming, and professional. They also always remember to ask if i need school notes too! The Doctors are amazing as well. They listen to my kids when they speak, always ask if they're feeling any tooth pain, and clearly explain what they're doing, looking at, or the plans for any work or follow ups. Even though this office is a bit of a drive it's definitely worth it for my kids to feel comfortable at the dentist instead of fearful. Thank you to your team and doctors for just being so awesome!

Fantastic experience: Had a great first experience here with my 10 year old. We came from another pediatric dentist we tried after moving and didn’t have a positive experience there…but here, everyone was friendly and professional, the hygienist made sure to explain everything to me and to my son as she worked. She was very patient and made my son feel at ease; he gets anxious going to the dentist and told me this time he liked that they “weren’t so rough.” We feel good about coming back and a plus that they also have an orthodontist in the office twice a month.

Fantastic experience: This was my second visit with my 18 month old. Staff is very friendly and gentle! I love the artwork in the office. My toddler definitely lights up when walking in and points babbling away. The dentist was kind and informative and patient with my toddler. Luckily she was friendly and did well. Fantastic experience: The staff was so considerate to making my 2.5 yr old son feel comfortable before cleaning his teeth. The waiting room is very kid oriented and welcoming with books, beaded table top toys, movies playing, and a fun wall with a “tooth world” painting. The chairs in back look up to movies on the ceiling. My son was born with cleft lip and palate along with other issues and has been poked at so much that he’s extremely fearful of medical personnel, I’m happy to say how comfortable my son was at Hercules kids dentistry! I look forward to continuing my son’s dental journey with this clinic.

Fantastic experience: Still amazing!! We’ve been with Hercules Kids Dentistry for the last 8 years and never have we had a bad experience. I could not recommend this office more! The staff has always been very patient with my kids, especially when they were younger. I have one child with special needs and they are always accommodating. 5 ⭐️‘s and 2 , would definitely recommend! Dr. Bala and Dr. Bhullar are wonderful and make you feel right at home, plus the office looks great!

Fantastic experience: It was my daughter’s first time going to a dentist. She was excited yet nervous of what this new experience would bring her, after just hearing or watching videos about it. Hercules Kids Dentistry and Orthodontics did an amazing job providing a quality experience not only for my daughter, but for me as well. Thank you all for the amazing work you do. Defiantly will be coming back. Love that it’s a place focused on kids and making it a good experience for them. From the way their office is set up, to the small activities they have for waiting kids. My daughter kept repeating the whole ride home “no cavities, no cavities!”

Negative experience: Have enjoyed taking my kids here, staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Unfortunately, they have gotten rid of insurances and now expect parents to pay out of pocket as our insurance is out of network. They explain that they will complete the documentation for customers so that insurances will reimburse us. I feel this is a big ask for parents who are already overwhelmed and already stretched financially.

Fantastic experience: Switched to Hercules Kids Dentistry, after a bad experience at a previous dentist. My daughter enjoyed her visit and it restored her excitement getting her teeth cleaned. I loved how transparent Dr. Paul was about preventive care and making us feel overall comfortable and eager to return in six months. Leslie and Alaundra were exceptional and the rest of the staff were very friendly. Highly recommend!!!!

Fantastic experience: My kids and I love coming here. They make the experience very pleasant and easy. Wait times are under 5 minutes of us arriving with the receptionists always friendly. This is the only dentist my kids have had, and my son (4yrs old) loved it and was easy from the first time he came. They’ve included My 2.5 year old daughter in my son’s experience since she was younger, such as taking X-rays and letting her jump on the chair and pretend or to “practice”. This was her second time being attended as well and she does so good because of their approach and how comfortable they’ve made her feel. Jessie & Kim were great and the doctor is always approachable with questions and very nice. I appreciate them all for making a dentist visit so easy, especially with two kids!

Fantastic experience: Hercules kids Dentistry is by far a really great Dentistry. They’re always accommodating my last visit. I was an hour early they were able to fit me in right away. Also there means in method with fluoride treatment has always worked well for my youngest and saved us a huge amount of moneyin the procedure to prevent cavities five star

Fantastic experience: This dental provider is really on point. Excellent staff, quick process, clean paperwork. For me best in class! Being in the suburbs of Hercules for me is amazing in so many ways. Now, I know, there's great dental care for all. One of the ways that I'm absolutely certain about this is that on my way out, I bumped into a mom from my son's preschool, who was getting her dental care from the adult place at the entrance to the professional office . She said, Hi, nice to see you, where did you come from? We said "hi" just coming from to the dentist. She says "Oh, the one over there? They're really awesome. They always do a good job with my kids, we love them." So I'd say this is a double verified 5 star review from a sincere community member who loves another awesome community provider in the "multicultural utopia" that is Hercules and Pinole. That said, it was just a cleaning for a tot with healthy perfect teeth. So, I can't say that this review is based upon any deep insight into the quality of their procedures or doctors for anything technical as far as dentistry goes. The care seemed very high quality. Quick and easy, my son is comfortable there at his 3rd visit. They're straightforward authoritative and balanced, quick and easy NO WAITING. When I asked to skip the X-ray, because my son's teeth are so healthy, they checked him out carefully agreed and said let's go for it, we can still wait. For the stage of care that we're at, that's ALL worth an A plus.

Fantastic experience: It is my toddlers second time coming and she absolutely likes it. She gets happy knowing she’s going to the dentist, loves to sit in waiting room and grab a book to read. Love how patient and friendly they are with my daughter.

Fantastic experience: I love Hercules Kids dentistry!!! From the office staff to the doctors they are so patient with my kids. The one thing I love the most is how patient and understanding they are with my son who has autism. Best place ever so glad I was referred to them and I refer them to everyone I know. If you are looking for a great, friendly, and loving dentist for you kids Hercules Kids Dentistry is the place!!

Fantastic experience: My 2.5 year old son had a great first visit! Dental Assistant, Jessica not only explained the process and showed my son all the tools so he’d be more comfortable but she did a fantastic job cleaning his teeth in about 10 minutes. The Dentist then came in, counted all his teeth and checked his tonsils etc and we were on our way! We were then given a postcard that said “no cavity club- great job Nicholas” and my son got to pick out 2 prizes which he was so excited about! (small cars, dinosaurs, balls, crayons, etc.) After his visit he keeps asking to brush his teeth with his new little tooth brush which we were also given. We look forward to coming back in September!

Fantastic experience: Love the whole staff. They take their time and answer any questions and make the kids feel comfortable. My child's extractions went super smoothly and so quick!

Fantastic experience: My twins have been coming here for years and they still love and look forward to it. All of the staff are nice, knowledgeable and really great with kids. They do give out fun prizes at the end too which is always a plus

Fantastic experience: Just went to the clinic for my son’s first dental exam and it was great! The doctor/staff are all very nice and professional. They did their best to make my son feel comfortable. Their office is clean and organized.

Fantastic experience: My daughter is 7 and has been going here since she was 2. She absolutely loves the doc and staff. I'm so glad her experience has been good. She never has a problem going to the dentist and I'm happy about that. Speaks volumes.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Bhullar and her staff are wonderful! They are professional, extremely warm, and approachable. My toddler does great here. The facility is clean and parking is super easy. I could not recommend this dentistry enough!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Bala has worked with all of my children but more recently my son, age 3, chipped his tooth. He has autism and I was nervous about taking him. Dr. Bala took the time to make him comfortable- showing him the tools and allowing him to touch and header them prior to using them. He explained everything he was doing before he did it.

Fantastic experience: Every 6 months I go with my baby’s and Hercules kids dentistry are truly good at their job. Receptionist are great, everyone’s communication is key, dental assistant are wonderful with cleaning and X-rays and we love the dentist. He has great energy and tells you every detail and how I can improve my children’s dental care. We live further now but we will keep going because my kids have great experiences every time. Continue the amazing work everyone there.
