Fantastic experience: I want to start by thanking Dr. Russell for doing an absolutely amazing job removing my wisdom teeth. I had one tooth extracted before seeing her, and that experience was a nightmare it honestly left me afraid to have the others removed. Despite that fear, I knew how important it was to get them out. After doing a deep dive online, I came across Dr. Russell, and choosing her was the best decision I could’ve made. I’m from Boston, Massachusetts and I can say it was worth every mile !!

Fantastic experience: My experience was great. I was greeted at the door upon entering. There was a great level of professionalism within each staff member I had interactions with. The space was neat and tidy. I was shown an educational video that detailed the services I would need, which was helpful so I could be knowledgeable about the work I would be getting done. Dr. Russell was very kind and answered the numerous questions that I had. She also engaged in small talk with me which puts me at ease when visiting the doctor and dentist. Overall, it was a great experience.

Negative experience: I received a bill text after I paid for my first and second surgery today. I’ve been holding off on my review to see how I healed and how I was treated throughout my healing process. My first surgery was in March for my top and my second was supposed to be late April but completely finished in October of this year. I prepaid but was not able to proceed with the procedure due to allergy season. The doctor bedside manner is subpar technique is one thing which is standard I didn’t have any infections but empathy and Social skills are another. While in some instances, they “advocated” pertaining to my allergies seeking a test for me But honestly, should’ve wrote me a referral. They cannot speak for me and that’s an issue I dealt with being spoken over by the head tech/nurse, not letting me speak as if she’s my guardian. Not only that the surgeon being rude to the head nurse, and the head nurse projecting that onto the trainees being impatient with one another, which as a client makes me uncomfortable because if you can’t properly communicate with your team, you should not be leading. When I came for my last visit, which was my bottom teeth I had to be put to sleep due to it being on my nerves and was met with paying a bill before the session got started and leading up to the appointment being rescheduled, and the other location, calling me so much to reschedule even on the day of my appointment. Unnecessary confusion but I already paid in April. so I was confused as to why I was being asked for more money to end with the final conclusion being I paid for it already, and they proceeded with the procedure but I waited two more extra hours when I was on time to my appointment early in the morning, the first client in the building. But honestly, if they started right away, I’m pretty sure they would’ve messed up so I’m glad I waited those two extra hours, but it was a waste of my time and inconsiderate. If you get your teeth done here, do not get the 3-D x-ray unless you have something severe like facial reconstruction or implants. It was implied that if she didn’t have the 3-D ct x-ray to see my nerves, then there could be mistakes which wasn’t the case when my mom went into the same room to look at the so-called x-rays, she showed her the regular x-rays my dentist provided she didn’t show her the 3-D scans we just took….. so if that was the case, they definitely did not need my 3-D scan because they didn’t even use that to work off of just to charge another $900 for a picture she was not gonna show but another surgeon I was vetting before I chose this one was charging $400. I took a mental note since that day; That’s predatory. I Also started shaking under anesthesia so when I woke up, I really did not know what was going on, they told me they gave me one medication I don’t remember the name of , but then they told my boyfriend they gave me ketamine, which was not what they told me they gave me in the room and I think the trainee also gave me a higher dosage than I was supposed to have… I was immediately told not to cry when waking up…. Even though I was not conscious, I promise your body holds onto a lot so even though I “can’t” feel anything, my body definitely did. bedside manner is so important and while I’m not pressed to get brownie points, I am on the spectrum so anesthesia might work differently for someone who is on the spectrum compared to whatever their issue is and their body weight it can metabolize differently. Regardless, if I do owe more money, that’s not an issue and I was not made aware or the price breakdown of any extra “add-ons”and I have all my papers from the prior price breakdowns and finish procedures which I have handwritten paid off, but the lack of clear communication is an issue.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Russell’s team, along with Dr. Price, did an amazing job. After suffering in pain for two months, I learned that my root canal had not been completed properly, which resulted in a significant infection and severe pain. I eventually had to see an endodontic specialist, who determined that the tooth needed to be removed. It was a crunch time for me between work, home, and other commitments, but Dr. Russell was able to fit me in the very same day. The sweetest part of the visit was her staff rubbing my shoulder and reassuring me that everything was going to be okay while I was being numbed with some very large needles. Also explained the entire process and recovery to make things simple. That small act of kindness meant so much. Thank you, Dr. Russell, for helping me and getting me out of pain.

Fantastic experience: I haven’t had my two wisdom teeth pulled yet. I have to get clearances from my PCP and Cardiologist. I went in for a consultation. EVERYONE and I mean EVERYONE was especially caring, professional, informative, and nice. I am definitely going back after they receive the clearances from my doctors.

Fantastic experience: Truly professional team! I needed an extraction and they squeezed me into their schedule. While currently awaiting back pay from rhe government reopening they also assisted on my co-pay. The wait was a tad bit but acceptable since I was a walk in. Procedure was done quickly. Excellent post op instructions. I feel a ton better already.

Fantastic experience: My visit was on 10/28/2025 I called the day prior and they had an opening. I called another practice and they gave me January the 30th. Natay was awesome she took really good care of me outstanding service. I must say all of the staff was amazing everyone I came in contact with from the greeter at the door the guy that did my X-rays to the surgeon he pulled my tooth and I didn’t even know he got it out didn’t feel a thing. This was my second visit my first visit was at the Upper Marlboro location and the second visit was at the Bowie location. The vibe in the office was very energetic and happy everyone was pleasant. The next day post op I got a phone call checking to see how everything was going this crew is awesome!!!!!! I will revisit for all of my future surgery needs. Above and beyond service.

Fantastic experience: My experience was great. I was very nervous about the procedure. We didn't discuss sedation during my consultation as I totally forgot after watching the video, so the day before my appointment I called in for last instruction and was advised they can offer laughing gas. When I arrived everyone was very helpful, though it was last me minute the dr got me started with an oral sedation. I was there for 3 wisdom removals but only removed 2 which was very quick and painless as she said it would be. My third wisdom could not be removed due to another tooth beside it that needs attention first so I will go back in a few weeks. I was given great information from the start to end. Ms. Jackson and everyone there was all great, helpful and pleasant. I would definitely recommend this office to others.

Fantastic experience: Very quick and easy wisdom teeth removal for me! I went in thinking I’d undergo general anesthesia but a medical complication came up but Dr. Russell and her team helped make the removal nice & easy.

Fantastic experience: I provided a 5 Star review yesterday and I promised a follow up review after the wisdom tooth removal. Amazing!! I went to their Upper Marlboro dental office for the procedure. As with the Bowie office, the waiting room was very clean and attractive. Many of the same wonderful staff were there, with a few more new faces. The receptionist Tori, warmly welcomed me, anticipating my arrival. Phillip, anther staff assistant, was very helpful, friendly, and he encouraged me as I was a little nervous about the procedure. I was immediately escorted to the patient room. Bronson and Ms. Johnson expertly performed all of the necessary preparations. Dr. Russell welcomed me back to her care and she assured me, again, that the procedure would be quick and straightforward. Wow!! After numbing the gums surrounding the wisdom tooth, she extracted the tooth within five minutes. Done! Dr. Russell reviewed my post-procedure care and instructions. Upon returning home, there was no bleeding, swelling, pain or discomfort. I couldn’t believe how great I felt!! This was, by far, the most pleasant dental procedure that I’ve ever had! I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Russell’s outstanding dental practice!!

Negative experience: I had all four of my wisdom teeth removed here, and it was one of the most emotionally and physically traumatic experiences I’ve ever had at a dental office. From the moment I arrived, the staff seemed disorganized. They changed my appointment from 11am to 11:45am at the last minute. The procedure didn’t start until around 2pm. They tried to changed the cost last minute and pressured me into options I already said no to — including laughing gas, which I declined multiple times. To make matters worse, the surgeon was cursing someone out loudly while I was in the chair. She was very rude. It was completely unprofessional and made the whole experience even more stressful and hostile. During the procedure, I was in a lot of pain and kept moaning or reacting to it, and instead of support or reassurance, I was met with impatience. The surgeon even commented about me moving my head like it was an inconvenience — despite the fact that I was clearly in distress. The anesthesia shots were incredibly painful, and I was not properly numbed before the tooth extraction began. One of the teeth hurt so badly mid-procedure, I was told I might have to come back another day — in the middle of surgery. And they still recommended me to get laughing gas again. Afterwards, I was told my parent was waiting for me outside, but they weren’t. I stood outside crying, completely disoriented, only to have my father show up later — angry and confused. The experience made me feel small, ignored, and like I was just a number being rushed through. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone who is even slightly nervous about dental work. The lack of compassion, poor communication, and disregard for patient anxiety was unacceptable. I now feel traumatized by a procedure that should’ve been handled with care. I won’t be returning. ** Update: Thank you reviewing your camera footage but I know what my experience was. I clearly heard the surgeon complaining about an employee not coming in to work. She went on to make comments about his wife coming in work but not him. I clearly heard her make an excessive amount of inappropriate comments. It’s unfortunate that you don’t value your customers experience but choose to minimize and dilute it. I repeat I wouldn’t suggest you come here as your experience will not be that of value.

Fantastic experience: They were so gentle with my son, when he came home there was pain but he said it was better than he expected and the doctors were so patient with him and he felt so comfortable. I’m glad we went there because now my sons teeth are good.

Negative experience: my office visit was TERRIBLE they were extremely unorganized, had a repair man there to point out what needs to be done AND my whole consultation was spent focusing on the fact that i smoke weed and demonizing me for it even though I have a medical marijuana card. the dentist bedside manner was horrible and i decided then and there she would never operate on me. i left after an hour an a half and the front desk didnt even have my bill ready for me…. he pulled out the calculator as im standing there. how unorganized and a waste of my time. well this saturday morning i just received a $500 bill from them… for NOTHING. i am so upset by this business I will return on monday to show my disgust in person pls do not support this business

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend the Maryland Oral Surgery Group. My husband has severe dental anxiety and had to have his wisdom teeth removed. They took the time to discuss all his options and prepare him for the appointment. On the day of, his anxiety was so high that he needed to be put under. One of the nurses sat with him to calm him down before they started the work. They worked quickly and efficiently, and provided us with great information (video and printed document) for aftercare. We had no problems with his healing - it was truly a breeze! Thank you, Dr. Benjamin and staff!

She was telling me things that’s never been told to me or even explained. Fantastic experience: An absolutely amazing experience! They were kind, gentle, warm, welcoming, professional and incredibly efficient and skilled. They shared information so we could make informed choices, and comforted my 11 yr son when he was nervous about the surgery by sharing the incredible achievements of a family members. They offered surgery on the same day as our consultation, seeing how nervous he was, even staying late. They finished a tooth extraction and bone graft in under 20 minutes, solid after care plan, too! I cannot say enough good things about this surgery practice- we are so blessed to have them in our community!!

Fantastic experience: This was my first visit. I was referred for two extractions. I cannot say enough about how pleasant and friendly the staff is. Every single person, I encountered was kind, friendly, and professional. The office is very clean and welcoming. Miss Jackson took care of preparing me for my procedure. She is clearly proficient, but also sweet and reassuring. Dr. Benjamin is great. Along with being professional, he is very kind, gentle and thorough. He put me at ease immediately. This office is over an hour from my home, but it was well worth the drive to be cared for by such a great team.

Fantastic experience: Firstly I want to say thank you to Dr. Benjamin and Phillip as well as the dental assistant Nnam, essentially everyone in the Maryland Oral Surgery Group office today. My previous dentist office was extremely unprofessional and they had not sent my referral over prior to my appointment. Everyone was extremely patient and kind towards me as soon as I walked in the door explaining my situation. They waited almost an hour for my referral to be faxed over and still made sure I was seen. I have really bad anxiety in general, and it was my first time getting a tooth removed. Phillip answered any questions I had, as well as Dr. Benjamin. Everyone made me feel extremely comfortable throughout the procedure and I am extremely grateful to them.

Fantastic experience: So I needed to get all of my wisdom teeth taken out, I called and was scheduled the next day (that was a plus) The day i arrived I was so super scared but Dr. Benjamin was super supportive and reassuring. He talked me through everything which made the process easier for me, and made my anxiety go away. I’m currently on day 5 of my healing process and had my first follow up today which went great! I would definitely recommend this place !!

Negative experience: It's a bald head, older gentleman with glasses named Mr. Russell. He is so rude and disrespectful thinks he can talk to you any type of way very unprofessional but Dr. Benjamin was very cool. Got the job done quick very professional very respectful

Fantastic experience: AMAZING SERVICE ! I had a cracked tooth and needed it to be pulled ASAP. As soon as I called I was scheduled for an appointment the same day. When I walked into the office, I was greeted by Dr. Benjamin, Mr. Russell and Ms. Jackson. They treated me like family from check in to check out. My procedure was preformed by Dr. Benjamin, he moved swiftly and efficiently. He was VERY GENTLE. I barely felt the pressure he said I may feel. Before leaving Dr. S. Russell stopped by to ask how my procedure went. Awesome professionals!

Fantastic experience: I had been dreading getting my infected wisdom tooth removed for months. I went in and was taken care of as soon as i got in. It took less than one minute to remove my tooth. I was so shocked. I was a bit overdramatic during the process but there wasn't any pain. The staff was wonderful and thorough as well. I would definitely recommend.

Fantastic experience: This office just did my 4 wisdom teeth extraction today. They were extremely fast it took less than 20 minutes for all 4 teeth and they were very welcoming and caring throughout the process. I would certainly recommend them!

Fantastic experience: The Maryland Oral Surgery Group is an amazing team. I was referred to Dr. Russell for a bone graft followed by a dental implant that involved the placement of 4 implants. Assisted by Ms. Jackson, Dr. Russell helped me to remain relaxed throughout both procedures. Philip and Mr. Russell assisted with the insurance and billing allowing me to heal without stress. Dental procedures are not my favorite thing to do; however, The Maryland Oral Surgery Group work together as a team to seamlessly make the experience worthwhile and obtain the best results.

Fantastic experience: If I could give more stars I would. I have the biggest anxiety when it comes to the dentist but my wisdom teeth needed to come out. Dr. Benjamin and Ms. Jackson were both great! Fantastic experience: Dr. Benjamin did a good job to make my wisdom teeth surgery as painless as possible. I had four of my teeth taken out with laughing gas. Fantastic experience: I was nervous at first but as soon as I arrived to the Maryland oral surgery group they took good care of me the doctor did a amazing job from first arriving to the front door I was taken care by right away all my questions where answered before the surgery they went beyond to even show me videos of how the procedure will look like and how to take care of my self afterwards. Honestly this place deserves to be on the top #1 I was even asked to come back if I felt any discomfort whatsoever. GREAT STAFF FRIENDLY AND RESPECTFUL.

Fantastic experience: I had been suffering with tooth pain for 4 days. It was so bad I thought I was going to lose it. I contacted MOSG at 10:00, they fit me in at 12:00 and I was back home by 1:45. Dr. Russell and her staff were kind and professional. I had the tooth extracted and the procedure was painless. I had minimal pain afterward. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate them. Negative experience: Let me start out by saying that my limited experience with Dr. Sharon Russell was great, but the billing department is horrible‼️‼️ She is the reason that I'm giving 2 stars instead of one. I was recommended to this oral surgery office for a wisdom tooth removal. I went in for my initial appointment on 4/16/24. Maybe they don't believe in, or their just too lazy to go through your insurance. I ended up paying up front for a Cone Beam procedure (I'm in Network!) For $895.00. I have personally gone up there and also had my dental insurance call them to remind them to submit the claim. ( I guess it's no urgency since I have already paid). To this day my claim has not been submitted (5/7/24). I am very disappointed in my overall experience with the billing department who are on location.

Negative experience: Tired to make an appointment for my family as new patients. In the middle of making my daughter’s appointment a young lady asked me to hold and when she returned on the line, she asked for my number and said she would call me back. Nonetheless hours later she never called me back. For the convenience and reviews on the actual dentist I decided to give them another try. I called back and a male answered the phone, and before I could say anything asked me to hold. I stayed on hold for almost 10mins before he came back. I told him as a new patient being on hold for almost 10mins was absurd. He said well my phone says 7 mins and some secs. I said you know what if this is the treatment before I even have an appointment forget this office and hung up. The phone staff is unprofessional and rude. They ruined it for my family that has great insurance so their loss. As a medical professional I would never treat my patients that way. You treat people how you want to be treated.

Fantastic experience: I just went in for a double emergency wisdom tooth extraction and needed a biopsy. They are not only professional, but they care about what they're doing and care about you as a person. They're the absolute best! I would rate them 20 stars if I could. They had me in and out in a half hour flat! It's day two now. I don't have a single bit of pain or swelling. I couldn't recommend them enough. The best oral surgeons in the United States in my humble opinion. They even walk you through steps on the phone if you're struggling with anything on their website. Really top tier. Everyone in that building is incredible!

Fantastic experience: I went to the office for wisdom tooth removal. The office staff was so helpful in finding the most immediate appointment. At arriving in the office it was so welcoming I felt so comfortable. The office equipment and office looked practically new. The nurses and doctors were so courteous and friendly. While waiting i was explained the whole process and able to watch a video on the whole procedure. Once i was numb the process was completed quickly. I then received instructions on post op procedures and answered all questions I had. This was a wonderful visit
