Negative experience: If I could give this place zero stars I would.I went in to get a consultation and my wisdom teeth pulled (without anesthesia) on the same day. I was advised by the doctor to get anesthesia to get my wisdom teeth removed. The nurse says to me “I really recommend anesthesia, you can just come back tomorrow at nine because you already ate.” After convincing me that anesthesia would be best, the insurance lady comes in and tells me a price and I sign the papers. When I get home she calls and says since the procedure is on the following day, it will be billed differently than if you got the procedure done today. She also put in the wrong code and that it’s actually going to be double the price. They will not honor the price they told me and that I signed for with anesthesia.They want me to come the next day and do it without the anesthesia so its within the same price as the original price they told me. So now they will bill me for a consultation even though it is completely their fault and had me sign a document under misinformation at which they are at fault. If I go somewhere else then I would have to pay for a consultation again because the will not withdraw their invalid claim.

Fantastic experience: I unfortunately had to get one of my teeth extracted, and I am severely anxious about any type of dental work. I was terrified as I waited to start my procedure but both the staff and dentist made me comfortable and worked so quickly! The entire procedure wasnt longer than 15 minutes and I left in no pain at all. As a matter of fact I was able to eat a normal meal that evening. They gave me a warm blanket and a care bag to take home with all the things I needed to recover. If you are afraid of the dentist then I highly recommend this office it was the best dental experience I ever had.

Fantastic experience: 1st off the office is super clean, smells great, modern style, comfortable seats and friendly staff overall. All of the staff I encountered were all welcoming. Hilary specifically from the front desk was very helpful with me as I waited in the lobby for my son during his surgery. In the meantime as I waited for him, I had a few questions about setting up an implant consultation, cost and reviewing my insurance for myself and she helped me so quickly and got me all set for my appointment.

Negative experience: My daughter spoke to the office and they apologized. The unprofessional treatment and degrading treatment she received is not ok. I will reword to omit the rest of the info but appalled at the treatment that was received!

Negative experience: While I finished my treatment I had one of the workers snatch my phone mind you I was trying to call my friend to pick me up to drive me home after the fact I told him I’m going to remember him to give a complaint and he proceeded to threaten me and tell me he will remember my face. Manager didn’t do nothing at all but tell me I’m wrong because I was off meds but I was fully conscious

Fantastic experience: Amazing experience during a horrible procedure with my daughter. My daughter had all 4 wisdom teeth removed under anesthesia and ofcourse she was freaking out. Kelly and Leo walked her theough the steps, calmed her down and stood by her side theough the entire procedure. The procedure was expected to last 30-45 mins but Dr Farkas managed to have it done withing 25 mins. Staff continued coming to the recovery rm to check in on her. I definitely recommend the practice, my experience from beginning to end was amazing!

Of course, yes, a few awesome staff members that stand out like bright stars like Anna(union city) and Luis(Elizabeth location)are compassionate and dedicated to help&inform you of any questions or concerns you may have. Dr. Herbst, aswell goes above & beyond to help you as well. I've been waiting 30 years for a certain wisdom tooth extraction that, NO ONE, AND I MEAN NO ONE!!!! FROM FLORIDA TO MAINE ALL up& downTHE EAST COAST WOULDN'T EXTRACT THAT 1 WISDOM TOOTH THAT CAUSE PAIN, Suffering & MANY YEARS OF COMPLICATIONS!!!! Dr. HERBST WAS THE ONLY ONE. Fantastic experience: I was super scared to take out my right wisdom teeth and an additional tooth as well. Everyone in the facility was super nice and assuring with the process so it calmed me down. The dental assistants were also very nice and helpful. I did local anesthesia, Dr.Kaye was amazing, he did it so quick, and didn’t feel a thing just the sensation and noise of everything which is part of the process when you choose local anesthesia . They give you the option of which anesthesia you want so that is nice too. When he told me I was done, i was just relieved and surprised it was so quick. He was very understanding, patient and educated me with the process/ healing process. If you’re looking somewhere to get your extractions or anything that requires oral surgery, this place is great.

Fantastic experience: I was scared to come here because I want familiar and Denver had a wisdom tooth pulled .. dr Kaye and his staff are amazing I mean honestly I felt very little to no pain after being put to sleep with general Anesthesia. Negative experience: The owner of the facility responded to my previous posts, but I didn’t have space to update my review, so I’m leaving a new one. Wow, Dr. Herbst so according to you, a consultation means informing me that my endodontist is incapable of performing my other procedures? As someone who has worked in consultation, I can tell you there’s a huge difference between making someone aware of an issue and insisting that they address it with you. As I mentioned in my review, when the dentist brought up the issues with my teeth, I acknowledged them and explained that I already have a dental plan in place. Please don’t try to justify wasting people’s time just to make more money.

Negative experience: Please be careful if you go here because they will go to great lengths just to make more money out of you! I rarely leave bad reviews, however, my experience at this facility was so awful that if 0 stars were an option, I’d give it. I was referred to this facility by my endodontist, who recommended a specialist to remove one of my wisdom teeth that had a cavity and was at risk of breaking during extraction. I scheduled an appointment for (11/15) at 2:30 PM. Upon arrival, I was promptly taken for a full-mouth X-ray and then placed in an exam room. Up to this point, everything was smooth and efficient. The actual extraction took just 5 minutes, but I didn’t leave until 4:30 PM. Why did a 5 min procedure turn into a 2 hour ordeal? Because the staff spent nearly 2 hours pressuring me into additional, unnecessary procedures. After my X-ray, the dentist reviewed the images with me and explained that all four of my wisdom teeth needed to be extracted. He also pointed out two broken teeth in my lower mouth that needed removal and recommended bone grafts to fill the gaps. I acknowledged these issues might need attention in the future but reiterated that I was there for one wisdom tooth removal with local anesthesia. He responded by saying the “account manager” would come in to discuss the plan further, which left me confused. What plan? I was there for a single extraction. A dental assistant came in, checked my vitals, and left me hooked up to a blood pressure monitor that kept inflating every few minutes. Eventually, the account manager entered and started reading a bill: “Today, we’ll extract all 4 wisdom teeth, put you under anesthesia, remove the 2 broken teeth, and add bone grafts. Your total will be around $3,200.” I was stunned. I told her I was there for 1 procedure, but she replied, “Didn’t the dentist explain your treatment plan already?” I clarified that I had a referral specifying the removal of 1 wisdom tooth. She then tried to justify the additional procedures and said it made sense to remove all 4 wisdom teeth since the bottom 2 were sideways and would eventually cause problems. She also insisted that “morally,” they couldn’t let me leave with the broken teeth because they were at risk of infection. As she explained all this, I was still strapped to the blood pressure monitor, which kept squeezing my arm repeatedly. Frazzled, I took it off, and she said, “You’re not supposed to remove that.” At that point, I didn’t need the monitor to know my blood pressure was skyrocketing. I told her I already had a plan for the broken teeth with my endodontist, but she insisted it made no sense to leave without addressing them and adding the bone grafts (an expensive procedure). At one point, the account manager even mentioned, “The endodontists you see wouldn’t even be able to do a bone graft—that’s a specialist’s job, just like how a specialist wouldn’t do a root canal or a filling” To escape this bizarre situation, I said I couldn’t afford it financially and that the 1 tooth extraction I came for was enough. She then suggested their office partners with a platform called Cherry, which offers zero-APR monthly payments. I was losing my mind—why couldn’t they take the hint that I wasn’t interested and had a plan in place? Finally, I told her I would call my endodontists directly for advice. When I called her, my dentist was equally confused as to why this facility was pressuring me to do extra procedures. When I relayed this to the account manager, she finally backed off and left. The dentist arrived around 4:15 to do the extraction I originally came for, but even then, he asked me who my dentist was because he was going to call them and see what their “plan” was for my broken teeth. He then leaves the room to call my endodontist. Did he not believe me when I repeatedly said I already had a plan? Why was it so difficult for this facility to stick to the one thing I came for? This experience was unnecessarily stressful, and their inability to respect my wishes or listen to me was beyond frustrating.

Fantastic experience: I'm very happy with this place. Scheduling the appointment for my son wisdom teeth removal was very quick, easy, the lady made sure to schedule it before he start classes so he didn't have to be missing school during recovery. They took a little long I would say to start the procedure but the wait was 100% worth it. Excellent service, everybody very kind and helpful, place very clean too.

Negative experience: This place is not honest! . One month later I am still in pain I have to see another specialist. I have to pay the whole bill. They refuse to submit treatment to my insurance and lied that they did. Email I sent: "I am contacting your office because I was told by your office bill agent that my insurance was paying $800. No claim was submitted to Horizon Blue Cross. I just checked. What is happening in your billing dept. This is not right. Since you tricked me to get the loan to pay for my wisdoms to be removed. I will pay that bill. I will rate you on Google for what you do to your patients when they are in pain and in a vulnerable state of wellbeing. "

Negative experience: No one know anything. You never get the right answer. No one never help. I wish I can give them no star. I have waited since June with communication about a procedure that my daughter supposed to get. Never heard from them until I got a letter in the mail about a denial. The only way we communicate after the letter I call them to see what was my next step. They explain to me to do an appeal and also spoke to doctor an he also said same thing. They tell me as a parent do a appeal now I do an appeal come to find out it got denied. I ask insurance why, they tell me because dentist did not send enough information to why my daughter need to go under anesthesia. Why this procedure is being done. Call the dentist today 9/4/24 again no one can’t help. I ask them for the person who is in charge of sending approval to the insurance they refuse to give me that information. You never get a call back. They don’t do there job right so that the insurance can approve procedure. They customer service is a 0. Remember fighting this for 3 month unacceptable. Also keep in mind the procedure was done wrong the first time.

Fantastic experience: Very pleasent experience. The staff was great even offered water durinh my stay in the waiting room . Dr. Kaye and Shy were great made me feel comfortable. They both explained the process for the extraction in great detail along with other questions I had . I would recommend this location to friends and family .

Fantastic experience: Was recommended to go to this specialized clinic by my primary dentist and I was not disappointed. For a first visit - the process of doing all the necessary paperwork via web form and text messaging, if you complete it before your appointment and provide the same documents in person day of, it’s a streamlined process to be seen by a doctor. Everyone was welcoming and patient to answer your questions and explain what was required. The facility was up to date and comfortable. I was expecting to return due to insurance clearance and this being more of a consultation appointment but we were able to perform the procedure without any delay. Dr. Kaye was able get me in and out of the exam room so quickly. They provide a nice little take home kit of after care instructions and tips that are simple and straightforward. If ever needed to come back for any future necessary procedures for myself or my family - it’s a no brainer decision.

Fantastic experience: Just had all 4 wisdom teeth taken out by the team of Kelly, Dr. Farkas, and Nadieska. My fears of dentists have completely gone away. The operating room was very comfortable, the teeth were pulled before I even realized it, and now just awaiting what is hopefully a smooth recovery!

Negative experience: I most likely will not be coming back to this practice unless Dr. Nancy will personally take care of my procedures from now on. She did a procedure three years ago that went flawlessly. However, I saw a Dr. Farkas yesterday and was not pleased with my tooth extraction. He ignored me saying I was in pain multiple times. I know the difference between pressure/discomfort and pain. He was very aggressive. Not only that before the procedure I specifically told the doctor and the assistant what I was allergic to. So with that I figured they could not prescribe me any pain meds and was only suppose to prescribe me antibiotics. I went to the pharmacy and not only was I not given the antibiotics but I was given medication I specifically said I was allergic to. I understand it’s a busy practice but this is not okay. I felt miserable during the procedure and I thought I would at least have antibiotics so I can avoid a possible infection.

But thanks to Alanis (I think I spelled it right) and Ana at the front desk, for being so welcoming. Those two ladies are just beautiful butterflies. And even the lady who didn’t speak English that toke my X-rays, she seen I was shaking. She even consoled me! I started crying as soon as my name was called. Smh ‍♀️But the doctor and his assistant with the cool spikey haircut was amazing!! Not because they put up with my big grown cry baby self! But because they was professional and fast. Oh and one thing that I did notice and I liked and it was kinda funny! The music in the room. Someone turned it up when I started screaming!!! Lol Thank you for that! The whole team was amazing and now yall are family! I will be back!!

I was going through terrible wisdom tooth pain for over one week and they handled my care with such quality, grace and knowledge. To start off, the office is immaculate, clean, professional and has top grade equipment for patient care. The dental assistants were so sweet and accommodating. They explained the entire procedure to me in detail and helped me feel comfortable and settled. When Dr. Herbst came, she listened attentively to my concerns, explained her perspective from the medical standpoint regarding my extraction and performed a flawless wisdom tooth removal overall. My recovery went very smoothly. I could not have asked for a better experience and I would recommend anyone to have any type of dental surgery with this group

Positive experience: Dr Kaye and his staff gets 5 stars! Yesterday I had a tooth extracted from a root canal gone wrong (not from this office) and was sedated. His bedside manner was 10/10. Thankfully I have zero recollection of the procedure- Dr Kaye seems to have done great work because my pain after was minimal. The reason I am not giving Union City Oral Surgery 5 stars is that during my consultation and afterwords on the phone prior to my appt, I made it clear that I would not be having anyone pick me up from the office and that I would be getting an Uber home. I was told more than once that this was totally okay and at the most I'd have to wait an hour after my extraction to leave. When I arrived at my appt yesterday, Dr Kaye kindly explained this is not true and that I would need to wait in the office for 6 hours after the procedure as sending me home alone is a liability. Totally understandable and Dr Kaye and his staff handled my frustration with ease and empathy. Luckily I was able to arrange for someone to be at my home when I arrived and the staff confirmed this with them by phone.

Positive experience: I went in for tooth extraction (5 teeth) and the tooth extraction process itself was SOOO WONDERFUL. Literally didn’t feel a thing , doctor explained the teeth I was getting removed , put me on anesthesia and next thing you know I was waking up to go home. I’m currently on day two and only the side that had 3 teeth removed hurts the most but the medicine they gave me is working wonders! I’ll definitely return to them in the future. Lady at the from desk was nice as well. Only downfall is how long I was waiting to get seen , even when I went to the back it took a while for the procedure to actually start. But I still recommend them.

Fantastic experience: I had an amazing experience here with my wisdom teeth extraction. I was very nervous before having the procedure but Dr. Herbst has great bedside manner and helped bring me to ease. I felt completely fine when I woke up from the procedure and did not have any pain at all. I definitely recommend coming here for any oral surgery needs!

Fantastic experience: I honestly was planning to give 3 stars. Not because of the service I got while in the physical office, but because of the phone call I had with the after hours lady on 3/5/24 around 5:30 maybe 6:00pm. I called them after hours because we were waiting for the pain medication and antibiotics but the pharmacy said they didn't get it. That's fine because miscommunication happens, that's nobody's fault. However, I called the line and it directed me to the after hours line because again the clinic was closed. I'm in the car, can barely move my jaw to talk from the gauze and discomfort, with the person who picked me up. We tell them hey we're trying to get the medication but we're having a hard time they said they don't have it. The after hours lady goes "did you give the phone number of the pharmacy to the front desk"? I can barely muster " No, they didn't ask for that, at the front desk when they asked about my pharmacy- I named "CVS" and specified the street address because there's two in my town ". She hastily rebuttals in a~ frankly~ non-hospitable tone " Well why wouldn't you give them the phone number?" Needless to say, I was taken aback and again my mouth was out of commission, I could barely speak with the gauze, just uncomfortable feeling pain, my whole jaw area swollen. Not only did I get an attitude, I got no resolve. I had to search up the cvs and give her the phone number now, and address again, she took it. Didn't say okay I'll reach out or you can go at x time or give me any type of communication. She said okay, and that was it. Call ended. I went home with NO pain medication, NO antibiotics, NO explanation after 4 wisdom teeth got extracted. It was terrible. The reason I gave the full 5 back was because once I woke up today and just before i was going to write the review, “Liz” called me with a follow up today asking how I was doing. I told her how I never got any medication and explained to her what happened. I can tell she herself was taken aback with the service I got. She clarified all my questions, re-educated me on post op care, rectified the pharmacy mix up, told me to call if I have trouble getting it again today, and said she’ll talk to the manager about that lady. I’m thankful she fixed it and honestly her energy matched the energy of the other kind people in the office when I went yesterday in union city. I know there’s two locations, I'm speculating that the lady might be hired at the Elizabeth location? Or who knows, it could have been one of the people from there who had a different attitude since their boss wasn't around, i don't know, I'd be surprised if it was though because I was treated well in the office. Unfortunately that situation overshadowed all the good experiences I had in the office but I'm sure they’ll rectify it and you won’t have that experience if for some reason you have to call after hours. Therefore, I still recommend the physical office. Scheduling the appointment was easy, they got me the same day and were able to remove what was causing me soooo much pain. I wish I got more names but EVERYONE was kind, helpful, and patient. The lady who handles the financial/insurance was SO patient. I was really concerned about the copay. I was trying to go against the recommended route for my teeth because I was trying to keep some of my money for future bills. She was really trying to work with me and find resolve. The other lady who was in the room also helped the original lady further explain the cost breakdown. I was able to get the procedure in a way that’s best for my teeth and wallet. Shame I didn't ask their names. But thank you :)

Fantastic experience: My experience with this practice has been overwhelmingly positive. Dr. K has been extremely accommodating and reassuring. I had all of my wisdom teeth removed, another molar removed (due to a nasty cavity) and a bone graft. I struggle with GAD and have a pretty strong fear of dental work. I also just have a very VERY hard time trusting doctors in any case, but the staff here has made me feel very comfortable voicing my concerns and have consistently gone out of their way to make me feel safe. I can’t say enough about how understanding, professional and kind Dr. K has been to me during this time. I highly recommend this practice.

Fantastic experience: Yesterday I got all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed and had a great experience. I don’t remember many of the names of the assistants nor the doctor (it’s kinda tough when you’re so nervous) but everyone made me feel very at ease and well taken care of, considering I had a horrific experience with local anesthesia at a different dental practice just days prior to my removal at Union City Oral Surgery. I was in and out within 1.5-2 hours and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I’d definitely recommend this place and go back if I ever needed more dental work.

Negative experience: I was recommended this place after my previous surgeon left me halfway through the implant process and moved to Chicago. At a first glance, the staff seemed really nice and the doctors were very nice and patient with me. They did X-Rays, checked my bone density and confirmed that they would be able to handle my case. Since the substrate used on me hasn’t been used by this office, I was told Dr. Kaye would research my implants and would give me a call back to continue the process, no problem. That first appointment was back in September. I was told to email them at “info@unioncityoralsurgerygroup” paperwork that showed the size, material, and brand of the implants. I send that email over to their front desk staff (October 5th) . I called them again immediately after and they reassured me that Dr. Kaye was going to call me back with an update. Since then, I’ve called once and/or twice a week asking for an update which extended into late December (I have phone records that include date and times if they want to see it for themselves). It got to the point where I started calling the Elizabeth office asking for an update because it seemed as if I was being ignored by staff and doctors and I just wanted the answer as to if it could be done or not. They would give the same answer “he can’t get to you right now, he’ll call you back today” “he will call you when he has an update” “he’s with a patient right now”. Now, I understand if it could no longer be done as I’ve already been rejected by 7 other oral surgeons due to the fact that they do not want to “touch other people’s work” and “liability” reasons, but it’s just unprofessional and really disappointing to lead me on with false hope making me think I have a chance of feeling confident in myself and being able to smile again, just to be ignored and having my phone number blocked. (Eventually the line started going straight to voicemail - This started within the 2nd week of January) If I had to start the implant process over again - so be it! It’s a loss i have to deal with myself and it was a lesson to not trust your local dentist. But if I were to restart the implant process, I would have loved to choose this office if they had the decency to be transparent on the issue and would actually communicate with me. I was hit by a drunk driver when I was 13 years old (I have the police report, images of me in the hospital, news articles if you need proof) and I’ve struggled for 11 years trying to find someone who could start the implant process. So not only am I now out of time and $8,000, I feel like I’ve been pulling teeth just trying to get some sort of answer. All I asked for is transparency. Ever since that accident I’ve visited tons of oral surgeons and dentists with good and bad experiences so I was really disappointed when this office couldn’t even have the decency to provide me an answer. This could have been prevented months ago if Dr. Kaye and/or the office staff would have just been honest with me.

Fantastic experience: I just had two wisdom teeth and another tooth removed this week and the surgery went very smoothly and took less than 10 minutes. The doctor was very nice and friendly -I forget his name but I don’t recognize him on the website. The assistants were also helpful. I’d recommend this office as I’ve been to two other oral surgeons but he was the best!

Fantastic experience: My experience here was so good I just had to write a review. I am 30 years old and just got 4 wisdom teeth removed here a few hours ago. My bottom wisdom teeth were partially impacted and rotated. Dental work TERRIFIES me and I had an incredible amount of anxiety about the extraction. The staff and the doctor were very understanding and patiently answered all my questions. The actual extraction and suturing was done with so much speed and precision I was shocked. I got local anesthesia and watched the whole thing and felt like I was in expert hands the entire time. It's been only a few hours since my surgery and the bleeding is stopped. If I ever have any oral surgery needs in the future I will absolutely come back to this place

Negative experience: I had my procedure done Thursday the 9th (11-9-23), strong pain but I am healing okay. When I had my surgery done I was extremely anxious and nervous, as anyone would be. I was not fully expecting to get my procedure, because at my consultation appointment through RWJ hospitals they told me they were lot sure if she would have time. Again, I was distraught to say the least. I was nervous about risks of the procedure and wanted to perform it another day. Dr. Herbst validated with my mother and father that the risks were minute and nothing to be worried about (risks that could arise of a genetically passed disease in my family). Even with this validation I was still extremely worried. Rather then deciding to reschedule the procedure Dr. Herbst told me I needed to trust her and understand nothing would happen. Still I visibly uncomfortable and vocalized how I felt numerous times. She (Dr.Herbst) still continued and told me she wanted to administer a medication to relax my anxieties, which I denied. She then told me she would be drawing blood, which I told her not to. She strapped my forearm to the arm of the chair and inserted an IV. At this point I was still in expressing clearly that I was not comfortable or consenting. I was then sedated and the surgery was performed. My father was aware to my understanding. While Herbst had the consent of my father, she did not have mine. She was aware I was uncomfortable and continued to administer the sedatives. I feel lied to and as if my anxieties were silenced because it was easier. Rather than listening to me and respecting that I was uncomfortable, she continued with treatment.

Fantastic experience: I literally had the best experience here! I went in about a week ago to get 4 wisdom teeth removed and everything went so smoothly and nice! I even got a call from the office a day later to see how I was feeling which is something you don’t see often. I am currently healing so well and have not had any issues what so ever.
