Fantastic experience: Nice state of the art office friendly staff

Fantastic experience: What a pleasant surprise. This dental office is excellent and appears to run very smoothly. The upfront costs were explained to me completely, no surprises. The dentist, hygienist, and staff were very caring and friendly. I think this is the first dentist in Ocala that treated me as a family member, rather than “just another patient”. I think I have definitely made the right choice by picking Family Dental Ocala.

Fantastic experience: Excellent service on my teeth cleaning! Highly recommended.

Negative experience: I was disappointed with the service I received during my recent visit to the dentist. I went in because my cap had come loose. I was not experiencing any pain in the tooth and hoped the dentist would recement the cap. After the assistant took an X-ray, the dentist examined the tooth. He placed the fallen cap back on and pressed down, which felt awkward. When I mentioned that it was uncomfortable, he immediately suggested I needed a root canal. I disagreed with this assessment, but I chose to trust his judgment since he is the dentist. I then consulted Dr. Nixon, the endodontist, who assessed that I did not need a root canal and recommended re-cementing the cap instead, which was my preferred option. When I returned to the dentist's office, the assistant insisted on taking an X-ray of the tooth for a charge, and I explained that she already had an image of the tooth. She should have checked the system first. Dr. Sam re-cemented the cap back on but did not check for bite alignment or anything else. I found this level of service to be poor.

Negative experience: Went for a cleaning. Lots of X-rays and very rough poking guns. The cleaning was only scraping my teeth also to rough. This is all that was done no polishing after scraping. Never had such a poor cleaning. Never come back here again

My front root canal tooth cracked, I had to find a dental specialist. Reviews were great for this office. I recieved excellent care. If you are extremely scared of dental offices & dentists, put your mind at ease & use this one. They took very good care of me from the receptionist to the tech to the hygentist and finally the dentist I was treated like a family member that needed help. Negative experience: Don’t think you’re going to post this because I’m totally unhappy with them. I won’t go back, unfairly treated. She said everything was my fault and took no responsibility for very bad, ill fitting dentures.

Negative experience: Just reported you people to the BBB . Kinda crazy you think its okay to say " we didnt make your Bridge , so you cant use your insurance, can only pay cash " , would make sense if u dont take the insurance. But to say " yes we take your insurance, No we didn't even run it , but they wont pay " .... must be a nice little fraud scam u do . If u git 20 people a week that way thats a very nice extra buck . Let's see what other board there is that governs dentist tho .

Fantastic experience: I’ve never enjoyed going to the dentist until I started going to VIP at On Top of the World 4 years ago. Nicole the hygienist is the best! She does an excellent job on cleaning my teeth & her room made me feel happy with all her decorations & sea life on the screen…very up lifting!! Everyone is very friendly & caring. Thanks Nicole & all the staff for a pleasant visit!!

Negative experience: 45 minutes behind schedule, no apology. Hygienist and Dentist said Gums look fine. Treatment plan has $600 of Periodontal cleaning, typical scam.

Negative experience: I am writing to formally document my recent experience with your office and to express my disappointment with the customer service I received on September 10, 2025, which ultimately caused me to cancel my first appointment as a new patient. I was scheduled for a 10:00 AM appointment to have a broken tooth examined. I arrived at 9:50 AM and found two individuals at the check-in desk with another patient already waiting ahead of me. Despite being present, neither I nor the other patient was acknowledged during the extended delay. By the time I was finally called to the desk, nearly 20 minutes had passed. The receptionist offered no apology or explanation for the delay. After locating my record, I was informed—without prior notice—that my appointment had been rescheduled to 11:00 AM due to a dentist calling in sick. I was never contacted about this change beforehand. At that point, I declined to wait and canceled my appointment. This experience left me with serious concerns about your office’s professionalism and respect for patients’ time. In particular: • Why was there no acknowledgment of waiting patients during the extended check-in delay? • Why did no additional staff step in to assist with check-in during this time? • Why was no apology or explanation offered for the delay at the front desk? • Why was I not informed in advance about the rescheduled appointment time and expected delays? Due to this lack of communication and basic courtesy, I will not be returning as a patient. While I cannot speak to the quality of your dental care, the customer service I experienced does not give me confidence in your practice. Sincerely, Mark Horne

Positive experience: Thought the rooms needs really good deep cleans. Found the chair armrests to be dirty, and the deepest part of the hinges to be filthy. Staff was very pleasant

Negative experience: I was not happy with the outcome of the appointment I had scheduled for months to get my what I thought? was my teeth cleaned today. I had tried to call to verify what service I was having done 3 times before I went in and no one returned my call. Got there only to find out my insurance had capped out and I would have to pay out of pocket. Rescheduled for after the first of the year. People need to pick up the phone and return calls or don't give the option to leave a message!

Fantastic experience: It was an extraordinary experience. The staff is very knowledgeable about their work. From the moment you arrive, there's always a positive attitude, with kindness and courtesy. When you go into the room, the assistants are careful and gentle. The dental hygienist, Fabiola, is very kind and excellent at her job. The doctor works quickly and accurately. She is very kind and professional. There wasn't a single person there who didn't treat you with extraordinary care. Negative experience: Asked for receipt. Need one for insurance. Said no charge today. Did not get a receipt for the RELINE. Dentist was great. Very all about getting it right.

Fantastic experience: I Raye my visit with 5 stars. I was seen on time, the dental hygienic was very nice and did a great job! The front clerk at the check in was smooth and the paperwork wasn't exhausting. The check out clerk was pleasant. No issues and appeared to be running smoothly.

Negative experience: Disappointed. They refused to complete a normal cleaning. I was told 6 months ago all was good but now they say I need a deep cleaning. Refusal to do a normal clean is just wrong. So I left without any service and will be looking for another dentist. I will not support gouging or inflating expenses.

Negative experience: Horrible experience!!! Family dental Ocala responded to my review suggesting "Your happiness is our number one priority", yet not addressing the $294.80 they owe me. We are now at week 9 of requesting a refund with no response. Dr Sayman is a polite and skilled dentist, and that is where it ends. Cancel appointments on short notice. When I experienced pain in my mouth they suggested I go to a walk in emergency care..for dental work!? When my bridge fell out the second time they broke it.. then told me they threw out the mold and had to start over The worst part is they overstate the expense then collect it from you, when the insurance pays out comes in they refuse to reimburse you hundreds of dollars after 2 months and 5 phone calls. Their office manager is rude and more than happy to pretend she doesn’t know anything about your issue. If you value your time and money please do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

I don’t like to be cut or for someone to be rough and quick. He was taking his time and being super careful. Negative experience: Called on July 23 to make an appointment for my 13yr to which I asked if they saw pediatric patients. I was told they see patients from 10 yrs and older. Great, went ahead and made an appointment for today July 28th. Got to the office for her appointment. We were called back to the room. She had X-rays and pictures taken. The dr comes in(Dr Lu) and she looked at her teeth for a split second. the dr proceeded to tell us that she needed to see a pediatric dentist. Mind you I had previously asked if they see pediatric patients and it says it in their website. The office manager told me that the call center misinformed me about them taking pediatric patients. I told her I had asked them and they said they did. I also told her that it says it on Google and their website. She told me that the Dr that saw pediatric patients no longer works there. Someone needs to get the communication together about them seeing pediatric patients. Not a very good office at all. A family dentist office usually means they see pediatric patients as well.

Negative experience: I was in for cleaning but the technician wanted a full makeup including X-rays and gums. I just had to come checked 3 months ago and they want to do again. I told him that I only wanted to cleaning they refuse to do that to me unless they got an X-rays and gums. All they wanted was a little extra money for me for the extra work. I walked out never had my teeth cleaned. I'm looking for another dentist.

Fantastic experience: Excellent Dental Office. Very nice and clean, all the employees were happy and seemed they loved there Jobs! My technician Julian was excellent and very informative., the hygienist Frieda was excellent and Dr Lu was extremely enthusiastic and professional. I like everything so far.

Fantastic experience: I have been a patient here a few years but hadn’t been for a while. They were very nice and with in a week I had an appointment. I only waited for about 5 minutes for my appointment. I went in and they cleaned and checked my teeth. I was lucky. I had been taking care of my teeth and had no new cavities. I have an appointment in 6 months. Everyone was really nice.

Negative experience: I scheduled an appointment for an exam and cleaning in November 2024. The earliest appointment was today (July 10,2025). When I got done with the exam they told me they’ll schedule the cleaning… in December. That’s 11 months from the initial appointment request. There isn’t a dentist worth an 11 month wait. I won’t be back there again.

Fantastic experience: I found my dentist office for life! Everybody that works there is very pleasant, upbeat and ready to help with any and all needs. Dr. Sayman attends to patients with ease and obviously knows what he's doing. My experience with him and the staff was over the top very fulfilling! I highly recommend Family Dental to anybody that wants to have the best dental experiences you've ever had, like I did!!

Positive experience: Office staff is friendly and helpful but, my 10:00 appt. that was confirmed by email and text twice was changed at the last minute and pushed to 11:30 and I did not leave until 1:10. I really liked the two hygienist. Not sure about the Doctor. Dr. Sam Guarnieri was friendly but I don't know much about him and there is very little history on social media and what there is , is not reassuring unlike Dr.Greenstein who was at that Office previously when it was VIP and who was a five star dentists with many many great reviews.

Positive experience: My visit was with the dental hygienist. I received reminders through text messages, my wait time was under 5 minutes, and the staff was very nice.

Positive experience: Just relocated to the Ocala area, and needed a Crown to repair a chip tooth. Appointment was scheduled quickly (less than 48 hours). Able to fill out all paperwork conveniently on line, was seen quickly and on time. Initial appointment reviewed and confirmed the situation, and provided an estimate of cost. I approved immediately, and was then schedule for procedure 2 days later. Temporary crown was measured, fit and applied, and all staff were friendly and knowledgeable. I would recommend the office and the doctor/hygienist.

Fantastic experience: Friendly staff greets you at the desk. My hygienist was very inviting and thorough on her examination. Asked great questions on dental habits, and condition of my teeth. Check out was just as pleasant and scheduled my next cleaning, and repair of a tooth.

Fantastic experience: They fit me in because I was in so much pain. The young lady was very friendly and took x-rays. Dr. G friendly and write me referrals for an endodontist because I have an abscessed tooth.

Positive experience: My appointment time was 10:00 but when I checked in they said I was down for 11:00 am even though I had the text and email that stated 10:00am. They did work me in however and I was seen by 11:20. Karen my hygienist, was excellent. And the dentist was very nice also.

Negative experience: Waited an hour to go in only to be told they needed Periodontal records. They called the periodontist and there was some misunderstanding and didn't get the records. Was told they couldn't clean the teeth and had to leave.

Negative experience: Came in today for a cleaning after being rescheduled 3 times (4 months) and was told that I needed a comprehensive checkup with X-rays so I had that done and then they said I was done!!! I told them that I didn’t have my teeth cleaned yet and that’s what I came in for and was told I needed to make another appointment!!! So I did make an appointment to get my teeth cleaned with another Dentist down the street. I will never go back to Family Dental Ocala. After going there for a number of years the service has severely gone downhill.

Fantastic experience: Extracted 2 teeth one of which was partially stuck, clean out infection and insert bone graft material. The process was expertly performed and totally painless.
