Fantastic experience: After a not-so-great experience at another dental office, I was a little nervous about trying somewhere new, but Merion Village Dental immediately made me feel comfortable. From the moment I walked in, the receptionist greeted me with a smile and even gave me a gift as a first-time patient. It made me feel welcome right away. The staff was friendly and professional. Regi was amazing, explaining every step while taking my X-rays, doing a deep cleaning, and helping with my exam. She made the whole visit easy to understand. I also loved how the doctor came in, went over my X-rays and pictures, and gave me a clear treatment plan. Seeing my teeth in full color on the monitor above was a first for me and really helped me understand everything. I’m so glad I found Merion Village Dental and will definitely be referring my family and friends.

Negative experience: As a new patient over this past weekend, I was so happy that they were able to fit me 3 days after I called to schedule. I made an appointment to get a filling replacement that had fell out. Due to my current dentist I've had for the past 15 years couldnt get me in for repair soon enough. Sat 10:30am as I show up for my appointment the employees were very nice and very welcoming. When I get to my room to be examined I explain im here for a filling. They begin doing procedures that I was not there for, such as a teeth cleaning then a bone disease test then 3 or 4 different x rays. They inform me I need an extraction which is understandable. I agree to the extraction there on the spot. As im trying to pay before the procedure I attempt to use my hsa card. It declines for the $1,400 dollars their charging me because I only had half of the amount on my account. Mind you I didnt know I had to tell them how much to run it for and they did not volunteer this info. Then I was told care credit was not expected. So I paid everything out of pocket on the spot. Im scared and stressed from going from a filling to an extraction not even comprehending im making a payment of $1,400. I was not advised as to what I was paying for exactly just a here's what you owe us situation. Once im in another room for the procedure im relaxing waiting to get started the assistance and i was talking about how expensive implants are and i wouldn't be able to go that route she provided me with a mouth mold of what partials look like to give me a better idea of what my choice next step would be. Then because I have extreme fear and anxiety with dentist needles I was offered some type of sedation meds prior to extraction which was great! I was advised I was not aloud to drive myself home so I set up a freind to give me a ride home. They advised a wheel chair could be required to get me to the car. I have the procedure done. They tell me to have a good day. They gave no receipt for anything done during my visit. 3pm I walk out to the parking lot right after im done alone for my ride and while im in the parking lot they scheduled me for my next appointment without asking or talking to me about it. Making it on a date and time im not available. Speaking with a family freind later that night that goes to this office regularly telling me they must definitely take care credit. So Sunday I call leave a voice mail about changing my payment method because i was miss informed the day of my procedure...thinking they will call Monday morning. No call Monday! I call them again. They tell me they pry can't credit my original payment and charge it to another since its been 24hrs and the payment was still pending, even tho they were closed sunday. I call again asking to speak with financial management. They had no trouble allowing me to charge another payment method. They issue me a paper check refund that they say will be ready for pick up Tues. I ask that my mother pick it up during their business hours due to me not getting off work in time. I also ask for a itemized receipt of the procedures that were done saturday to be with the refund check. My mother picks up the check. Later that night I get the check from her there is no itemized receipts and the check they wrote out to me is not signed! I go up to the office that same night to get the check signed to it can be deposited to me and the itemized receipts. The 3 people at the desk didnt even know a check needed to signed for a check to be worth anything. Receipt showing I was charged for multiple things I wasn't there for one being a bone replacement graph for $962 dollars that shouldn't be needed when I had talked with the lady prior to my extraction about a partial being the route I would be taking due to the cost of an implant. Now I've paid for the set up for an implant that I had no intention of doing. Needless to say me being a new patient this was an emotionally, horrible, overwhelming, negative experience. I feel I wasnt listened to, I was misinformed and taken advantage of, and given the run around.

Negative experience: I would be warry about these highly rated reviews and suspect many of them to be fake. This place is shady and I will be contacting my insurance company to let them know what happened. I booked an appointment on their website specifically selecting it was for pain. I got an appointment the next day. Once I got their, I immediately told them my priority was my molar pain and I thought it needed to be removed. They assured me that it would be taken care of and sat me for x-rays and then cleanings, and then the doctor came in for a second. Then I was told that I would have to wait out in the lounge to see my proposed bill and that they could schedule me for 5 days later meanwhile I had my copay and they billed my insurance for a stand 6 month checkup. They showed me a bill for $3k+ with an out of pocket of $1100 for them to pull three teeth. I ended up wasting 3 hours of my time, still had my major tooth pain and they got paid for a service form my insurance company plus my copy. My only recourse given was "we can prescribe Motrin". I could've done that myself. Terrible experience. Never returning and will be EXTERMEMLY vocal about it.

The cost you mentioned isn’t reflective of standard extractions at our office, and we always want to make sure estimates are clear. Some services we offer, like sedation or preparing teeth for future replacements, do carry additional costs, but we are able to provide flexible payment options, including some without credit impact, to make care more accessible when insurance doesn't pay as much as they should - we share that frustration!

Negative experience: Got a severe strep throat infection 4 days after my visit here. I am very ill and unable to get out of bed. This is consistent with the incubation period for strep throat.

We take infection control and sterilization protocols extremely seriously and follow strict clinical guidelines to ensure the safety of every patient who visits our practice. Because strep throat can easily be contracted in many community settings, especially during this time of year, it’s difficult to determine the source without further information.

Fantastic experience: I was looking for a new dentist and went here and it was so amazing and friendly! I had a lot of problems with my insurance and they helped me figure it all out. I am horrible with names but I think my hygienists name was Connie but I really am not sure, she was an older lady and was the nicest and most informative person I have ever met. Every time I go now I hope I have her every single time, she even took the time to walk we through all of the things I had questions on, truly one of the best people I have ever met!

Fantastic experience: As always, I was greeted warmly and did not have to wait long. Carrie S., my hygienist, was her usual friendly and professional self. She discovered an issue, which involved a separate procedure. and it was taken care of at that same appointment. Keturah gave the injections and I cannot say enough about her skill. Nearly no pain! I was passed on to Marla and Dr. Gorr, who both performed superbly. I have been a patient at MVD for about 45 years and cannot imagine going elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: I was only a patient at Merion Village Dental for a short time, but my experiences there were very positive. The office and grounds were exceptionally clean and well-kept, all of the staff members I interacted with were professional, thoughtful, and knowledgeable, and the dentists were certainly equally so. My only "critique" about MVD, is that (last I knew, at least) they only accept Delta Dental Insurance plans. Not particularly their "fault", but it is a factor. Still a 5-star dentist experience overall!

Negative experience: If I could give 0 stars, I would. This office used to be great, but not anymore. After my braces were removed, they claimed the lab lost my records. For the past three years, my mom and I have been calling, emailing, and chatting just to get my retainers. All we ever hear is: “we’ll look into it,” “we almost have them,” “we’re waiting on the lab.” Still nothing. They’ve taken no accountability. No apology. No solution. We paid over $10,000 and got ghosted. They even confuse me with my mom while I’m using my own phone and email. And after all this, they offered me a $50 coupon for a future visit — while still refusing to provide the retainers we already paid for. This has been years of stress, excuses, and unprofessionalism. At this point, they should have reimbursed my mother and apologized.

Negative experience: Failed root canal! Charged way too much for the root canal. I have requested a refund because I had to go to an endodontist so they can do it right. Never heard back from them always got the runaround when I would reach back out for the full refund. If you got the money to blow and you don’t care, go for it by all means, but they do not do certain procedures correctly. Also, the crown that they put was not on all the way. And if they want to fight the reviews on this, trust me, I got letters from my endodontist, and I have x-rays from theirs and for my endodontist.

Negative experience: Absolutely insane pricing, even for the US. I guarantee you won't find a more expensive dentist in Columbus. When I arrived for my initial appointment to redo a filing they said it was going to be $425 for just the inspection, before they started doing any work. I went to the Gentle Dentist and got the actual work done for $300.

Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful first experience at Merion Village Dental. The staff were all very welcoming and thorough. They answered all of my questions and even made an exception by not charging me for my second set of x rays of the year because I had been at a different practice prior. I was a bit wary of other reviews that mentioned unnecessary procedures, but I pointed out a few concerns and the hygienist and dentist both reassured me that I didn’t need additional things done. Carrie the hygienist and Dr. Gorr were both kind and made me feel very comfortable! Definitely recommend for the extended hours and easy scheduling!

Fantastic experience: I want to take a moment to sincerely thank Heather and the entire amazing team at Merion Village Dental for their kindness, empathy, and truly outstanding care. Due to personal circumstances, my dental health had been severely neglected, and I hadn't been to a dentist in over 10 years. I was incredibly nervous and afraid of being judged, especially since I came in with a painful toothache that needed immediate attention. From the moment I walked in, every single person made me feel welcome, and safe. Heather, my hygienist, was so kind, gentle, and reassuring during both of my visits. She showed genuine empathy and never once made me feel ashamed or uncomfortable about the condition of my teeth. Her compassion meant more to me than she knows. I also worked with Dr. Watts for my extraction, and she was wonderful. Constantly checking in to make sure I was okay and being as gentle and caring as possible throughout the entire process. Tony was also helpful during check-in and imaging and was equally reassuring, which helped calm my nerves. Even the sweet lady who was putting out coffee was so friendly. Beyond the care itself, the office is warm, welcoming, and full of genuinely friendly people, from the front desk staff to the providers. They offer flexible hours, are completely transparent about costs upfront, and even provide payment and financing options, which speaks volumes about how much they care about their patients. I wish I could give everyone there a huge bonus and a hug. Thank you for treating me like a human being and showing me true compassion. I cannot recommend Merion Village Dental enough.

Negative experience: I would never recommend this dentist. Their billing practices are dishonest at best, and unethical at worst. I have dental insurance and I went in for a cleaning. They did my cleaning and I left without payment (as I have always done at every dentist I've ever been to). But a month later they said I owed them $300 for the cleaning. Turns out the insurance company has a maximum payout for cleanings (standard practice), and this place charges way more than that (also standard practice). What sets this dentist apart is that they bill you the difference a month later whithout telling you that is going to happen. If they disclosed the true cost to me before they did the cleaning (because they DEFINITELY know how much cleanings are going to cost patients), I would have gone to a different dentist. Shameful business operations.

Fantastic experience: I am very impressed by the personnel and the technology employed by Merion Village Dental. As part of my preventive care, the dental hygienist named Susan took X-Rays. Then the hygienist took a 3D Scan, using a machine that I had never seen before in other dental offices. It provided a 3D color image of my skull! When Dr. Hammad reviewed the image, he spotted what appeared to be an infection that likely was draining into my sinus cavity. He showed me the area on the 3D image and explained it to me. As additional confirmation, Dr. Hammad did a “cold test” on the tooth in question, which verified that the nerve was dead, as I had no cold sensation from the tooth. They promptly scheduled a root canal on Dec 4. They numbed the area and the procedure was painless! The tooth had a crown and they advised me beforehand that they may not be able to save the crown and might need to replace it. I agreed. Dr. Hammad was kind, personable, careful, precise, and thorough. His support staff was friendly and professional. At no time did I feel like Dr. Hammad or his staff was rushing. He took several checkpoints to ensure that the root canal was exactly right. At the end of the procedure, I was pleasantly surprised when Dr. Hammad informed me that he was able to save the existing gold crown! Because Dr. Hammad had spotted the infection on the 3D scan and performed the root canal, I no longer have sinus drainage, from which I had suffered for 6 months and which I had previously attributed to allergies. I would highly recommend Merion Village Dental and Dr Hammad, as well as dental hygienist Susan.
Negative experience: I went in for my first visit, just wanted normal cleaning and visit. They told me I had to do something called a root planing because they do it for all their first timers. They also told me I had 10 cavities. I left that one appointment with a $1600 bill and that was after insurance. The experience scared me off from going to a dentist for about 5 years. When I finally went to someone new a few months ago, all my cavities had miraculously healed themselves and my bill was only $60. Stay away from this place. Huge scam.

The facility is so clean and staff are so friendly/knowledgeable. The no cavity club and prizes are a nice perk too. My hygienist Carrie is an absolute angel! Positive experience: I will start by saying my actual appointment with Merion Village dental went very well and was extremely efficient. The facility is well kept and everyone I worked with was very nice. My issue came a month later when I got a text message saying I owed a $280 bill for my teeth cleaning. After calling to see why, I was told that my insurance did not end up covering what they charge. I was ran through a bunch of imaging machines without given any option to opt out or any heads up that I may have to pay for them. This practice does not know ahead of time what your dental insurance covers and still runs you through every machine possible without any explanation for what it is or option to opt out. After calling and disputing the bill, the practice did go out of their way to reduce the amount but I am still left with a pretty good sized bill for a simple teeth cleaning. I will not be returning to Merion Village dental in the future.
Fantastic experience: Never felt comfortable going to the dentist. Merion village dental will put your mind at ease. Dr Hammod is a very caring dentist that cares about you and puts your fear behind you. The whole office from the time your greeted at the door by Lynne to the X-ray tech I had , Iris who was nice as can be, and Kathy the hygienist , they are a great group working there!! Go...no fear!

Negative experience: I been a patient there for so long but this time they did me wrong. I had to get cowns. I made sure that I paid everything before the procedure but they don’t care after they done. They sent my name to a collection agency for unpaid bill that they said everything it’s paid for. PLEASE make sure that you will address everything CLEARLY before you get anything done
Positive experience: Friendly place don't like in crown service machine, yes get crown same day. But for me my crowns are smaller then original teeth. The old mold sculptures are better for me. Then I hate the fact I pay in full then her is a bill later for extra $100-117.

Fantastic experience: The amount of absolutely positive things I have to say about Merion Village Dental is endless! My experience with the entire office staff, dental staff, and doctors, is the absolute best I have ever had in my 39 years of life! My best friend, who is also a long time patient and Clear Correct patient as well, with MVD, referred me to their office, and I was able to go online and very easily scheduled my appointment, where I was able to view and learn about all the staff, and pick my doctor. The services I was looking for included everything to crown repair, cavities, gum disease and teeth straightening. They provide all of the services I was looking for! I chose Dr. Watts for my doctor and she is and has been absolutely fantastic and I love her! If you are looking for teeth straightening services they have provided excellent services, offering Clear Correct. It has been a very seamless experience and Dr. Watt's customized my service and experience to meet a deadline, which was amazing customer service and I can not say more great things about her! She also loves bunnies and has a pet bunny so of course I already love her for that! They offer many ways in which to pay and finance treatment, and are very straightforward about cost and scheduling. This office truly runs like a well oiled machine, and once you walk through their beautiful flowers and plants, you will be greeted by Lynn, who is so kind and friendly and is generally baking chocolate chip cookies! When you walk in, she usually greets you with a smile, and will remember you. The lobby area has a very nice seating area, along with a table and chairs, small kitchen, and a refrigerator with water, not to mention the lovely waterfall and the gorgeous flowers, plants, and well tended garden with its very own creek! It is one of the most impressive and beautiful gardens in Columbus!! I have had such a great experience with Dr. Watts in my Clear Correct journey, and she also did a beyond amazing job getting my teeth looking good for my sisters wedding I’m a short amount time! With her help I was able to achieve results that are the best my teeth have looked in more than a decade, and I am so grateful and appreciative of her willingness to work with me to help me get to that point so I could feel confident in myself, and my smile, on such an important day for my sister, myself and my family! All of my services providers, in terms of dental assistants, hygienists, clear correct technicians, (pardon my ignorance in terms of correct job titles), have been so wonderful and helpful and always take good care of me and communicate! The front desk staff and Office manager are efficient, and helpful, and their messaging with appointment reminders, scheduling, and billing is convenient. Bravo to this entire office/community of individual dental care providers and professionals, for your hard work, efficiency, and dedication to excellent service and professionalism, as well as nurturing a lovely environment for your patients that makes them feel comfortable, welcome, taken care of and given an opportunity to care for their dental health, at whatever place they might be. It had been far too long since I had visited the dentist, but at MVD, they met me where I was at and never made me feel bad about the state of my teeth and the neglect I had inflicted on myself. Fantastic experience: Carrie is just the best hygienist. She even remembers my dog’s name and asks how he’s doing. She is gentle and keeps communication flowing throughout the visit. I highly recommend this practice for anyone in the Columbus area. They are quick, organized, and sanitary :)

Fantastic experience: Love this sitting area it’s so peaceful also it’s a Friendly environment, along with great customer services. ☺️ but ofc with all the promotions and offers they have they are very expensive I also didn’t like going on the weekends because I felt rushed, they charge me $2585 for my wisdom teeth to get all four removed, I paid my co pay and I went to comfort dental.
Negative experience: Went in for a regular cleaning (this is 100% covered under insurance). These guys billed me $29 and could not explain what the charge was for. I followed up several times, and it turns out, they were doing things not covered by the insurance Customer service was terrible, if not outright racist. I am leaving a 2 star rating because I was their patient for over a year, and they seemed fine up until the very end. Would not recommend.

Fantastic experience: Fast and professional! The staff was friendly and attentive. I came in at 730am on a walk in for an extraction. I got x-rays, prepped, and was done in time for me to make it to work by 9am. Definitely would recommend.

Fantastic experience: Greeted by the receptionist with that warmest welcome. Everyone staff member I interacted with was kind. Everything was disclosed up front (cost of treatment). Also provided a detailed treatment plan in order of priority for my entire family. This establishment is above the rest and I will recommend if asked!

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend! From the moment you walk in, you are greeted with amazing hospitality and friendliness. Ease of setting up appointments and asking questions trough texting takes the hassle out of phone calls, though their phone service is also excellent. I've gone here for 2 appointments so far but my wife has been going here for years and we both enjoy the services!

Fantastic experience: I’ve driven past this place many times and finally decided to make an appointment and let me tell you, from the street, you’d never know it was such a gorgeous office! Reception (Hi Lynne!) is very welcoming and is a host of all the information you’ll need on your first day. The dental staff were very thorough with my exam and built my dental goals in a way that was very strategic and mindful of my dental insurance. I actually can’t say I’ve ever experienced that at any dental office in my life. Truly can’t recommend them enough. Thanks MVD!
Negative experience: They are a money pit they told me that I need my tooth pulled after they pulled one then told me I need another pulled I got a second opinion and was told I did not need it pulled at all be careful going here they will charge you hundreds of dollars and you might not even need that work done. They suck you end with the cookies and tv in the ceiling so you can get comfortable and keep coming back and will Nicole and dime you please don’t go there if you want to keep your teeth

Fantastic experience: 02/26/2025 UPDATE: Carrie is still awesome! I don't know how going to the dentist can be pleasant, but that is the best word to describe my experiences at Merion Village Dental. Everyone is awesome. I have been going here for about three years now and can't recommend it enough! I also had my wisdom teeth taken out here and everything was easy with no issues. Ask for Carrie as your hygienist. She is the best! Super friendly, makes you feel at ease, and great at what she does. The same goes for Dr. Hammad. Very warm and easy to talk to.

Fantastic experience: Updating my review as of March 2025: I haven't been anywhere else in Columbus since moving here. Merion Village Dental has the best dental service I've ever received, and it's in no small part thanks to Carrie. Carrie goes above and beyond to learn about my life and family, and is so caring. Going to the dentist feels more like visiting an old friend! MVD is the best, undoubtedly. Carrie adds so much to that. You'll be happy to go to MVD, and make sure you request Carrie as your hygienist! I've been going to MVD for years now, and I won't go anywhere else. My hygienist, Carrie, is consistently so incredibly nice and welcoming. She answers all of my questions, and my teeth are in great shape. The best part is that if there's ever a problem, they can usually take care of it right there on the spot, same day!

Fantastic experience: I am a new patient and i have had a few procedures done already. I must be honest i have not seen a dentist in about 20 years because of fear. Fantastic experience: I hadn’t been to a dentist in way too long. They were really nice about it and friendly and got me all set up with a plan. They replied in just a few minutes by text when I had a question later about it.
Fantastic experience: I had to get my wife in for an emergency extraction. I called and explained what was going on. They had us in the office in 45 minutes and she was in a chair about an hour after I called. They are always extremely friendly and take special care of my wife due to her Alzheimer's. From the front desk, to hygienists, to Dentists, to check out, everyone is extremely professional and caring.
Fantastic experience: I started coming to Merion Village Dental upon the recommendation of my wife. She said, "if you ever have an appointment there, you will never leave." She was right. I think all the employees have to take and ace a nice test. I always feel welcome. Lynn Elkins has been a delightful addition to the staff and sets the tone, offering genuine warmth and a sense of "We are glad to see you." My team of Nikki Taylor as my hygienist, and my dentist Dr. DiDonato is in my humble but accurate opinion, the absolute best. Nikki has, for years been my lifeline to great dental care. Dr. DiDonato, new to my team, continues to exceed my expectations and maintains the GVD standard of excellence in dentistry. Negative experience: I scheduled an appointment here based on my dentist’s recommendation and was told they offered payment plans. However, SEVEN DAYS before my visit, they called to have me sign a consent form and informed me that nearly $2,000 was due upfront. I was shocked to learn they don’t actually offer payment plans, only recommend Affirm. When I asked about a deposit refund, the staff was rude and insisted I had already agreed to the terms, even though I hadn’t signed anything. They promised a callback, but after two days with no response, it’s clear they were more interested in money than patient care.

Fantastic experience: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had an outstanding experience at Marion Village Dental! From the moment I walked in, the staff was warm, welcoming, and incredibly accommodating. The first voice I heard was Miranda, and she immediately made me feel at ease—she even remembered me as soon as I walked in the door! That level of care and familiarity goes a long way. Michele was my guide through the process, introducing me to the chair (which, by the way, was very comfortable). We got quite personal with her hands in my mouth, but let me tell you—she knows exactly what she’s doing, and I truly appreciated her expertise and gentle approach. Dr. Ashley was fantastic. She listened carefully to my concerns, diagnosed the issue quickly, and had it resolved in under five minutes. Negative experience: I used to love this place, but the hygienist we had today, almost ruined it. She seemed upset and angry, she screamed at us for not knowing where to go for the X- ray, The doctor also wasn’t the best, but the hygienist made my 14 year old daughter extremely upset, and she already had anxiety of the dentist and after thinking she finally was ok with that fear, this place brought it back. We used to love them but might be a stretch if we return, don’t really recommend, yes they have cookies or whatever but at the end it’s the service you receive.
