Fantastic experience: I’ve been coming here for a few years now and I always love them. Dr. G is really good at what he does. My bite after procedures is always on point and he’s pretty speedy at fillings. I’ve never had a problem with any of the front desk staff or hygienists either. Always stellar! I moved 30 min away, but still come here because they’re so awesome.

Negative experience: I went to Cougar Dental for a cleaning and was told I had 3 cavities for which they set an appointment to have filled at the end of the week. I had a weird feeling about it because I’ve never had any cavities before so I sent my X-rays to another dentist and ended up making an appointment with my home dentist as well. Both dentists said that I didn’t have any cavities. I want to assume that this was a simple mistake on Cougar Dental’s end, but it’s hard not to believe they were just trying to get money from an unnecessary procedure. Who knows, maybe they really are ahead of the game and in a few months I will be noticing the cavities for myself, but I’d rather not risk drilling into perfectly healthy teeth since it’s been confirmed by 2 others that they don’t need work.

I never thought I’d say this, but I actually look forward to going to the dentist now—and it’s 100% because of Dr. G and his amazing staff at Cougar Dental. Fantastic experience: My family has come to this office for a long time, we love the environment, dental hygienists, dentists and assistants. We normally see Dr G. And all our treatments are very well done. I feel like he is very honest and reasonable in his assessment. I remember one time , my son when he was younger needed a second opinion and he saved his tooth without needing a crown at that time .

Fantastic experience: I have been going to Cougar Dental for years and have been impressed by their prompt service and how they go out of their way to help me feel comfortable. They also are generous with their services to my refugee friends.

Negative experience: I used to absolutely love Cougar Dental and have been going for years. But as sad as it is to write this review, I sadly can't recommend Cougar Dental for the moment as I've been priced out. A simple cleaning for years used to be around $150. But every visit I've been to, it seems like the cost only keeps getting higher, until my latest visit for the same cleaning routine now costs almost $300 after taxes/fees. When notified that I would need a filling, I was quoted for an additional $300 for just one filling. I didn't mind paying more for premium services, but now, I'm just paying more period...

Negative experience: Every time I come in it's something else relating to billing. They don't keep track of your insurance x-ray schedule, and then tell you to pay for x-rays after they weren't covered "as expected." Not worth the hassle—I'm finding a new dentist. The interior of the building is fine and the people are nice enough, thus the two stars.

Negative experience: Dentist was dismissive and the filling was uncomfortable for years until it fell out recently. Certainly the worst dentist I've had the misfortune to experience.

Fantastic experience: Cheerful and professional team. They worked us in to get two crowns before traveling overseas. The crowns were both perfect with no bite adjustment needed. Painless cleaning.

Negative experience: This is an updated review, as I’ve previously reviewed Cougar Dental positively. The reason for the update is long term dissatisfaction with a chipped tooth filling they did for me several years ago. Previous to that appointment, my teeth occluded perfectly and my bite was great. I’d had a short round of invisalign in high school to address a bottom tooth that was putting pressure on my top teeth, and had been very diligent about wearing my retainers since. After a routine cleaning at Cougar Dental, I asked if they offered chip filling, was told yes, and had a chip on one of my top front teeth filled. The dentist put a huge excess of material on the back of my tooth over the chip. When I asked about it, the (very young) assistant told me it would wear off over the next few days. It did not. The excess filling prevented me from wearing my top retainer, and by the time I went back in a week or so later to get the excess ground off, my top tooth had been turned substantially enough by all the remaining filling material hitting my bottom teeth to allow my previously turned tooth to start shifting again. All this movement created uncomfortable pressure points along the sides of those teeth, pressure points that still crop up 3 years later. Some months after the chip was filled, after the furor of planning and executing our wedding had died down, I went back to ask if there was anything that could be done about the fact that my teeth had shifted and my retainers were consistently uncomfortable. The solution I was offered was a new top retainer. I think they tried to price it fairly, but it was still $150 on a college student budget to address a problem they had created. This would all potentially be bygones, but the end of the story is that I noticed the other day that whatever material they used to fill the chip seems to be wearing out. I can’t emphasize enough how frustrating it is that I am more or less back where I started 3 years ago, except this time with overall worse looking and feeling teeth. Every time I notice how my teeth have moved, I’m reminded of that assistant smiling and telling me the extra filling would wear off. If you need a regular cleaning, Cougar Dental is fine, but if I could go back in time, I would absolutely tell myself to find another dentist.

Fantastic experience: Staff was super kind and helpful! They were never pushy and extremely accommodating. I had cavities filled and Invisalign done and was always impressed with the promptness of the staff. Definitely go here!

Fantastic experience: great services and nice people! I had a deep cleaning here and it solves my bleeding gums issue. The wisdom teeth removal procedure by Dr.G was also smooth and great (I did it without any sedation), and I didn't have any swelling issue after removing all 4 of my wisdom teeth.

Fantastic experience: Dr Groesbeck is awesome - he did a root canal on one of my front teeth a few years ago and he made it look seamless and amazing. I get really anxious for fillings and he really listened to my concerns and helped come up with a plan to make me feel as comfortable as possible.

Positive experience: Always feels like the dentists, though I like them a lot, are in just a touch of a hurry to move to the next patient. Good, but not exceptional. I only do five stars for something that that’s extra extraordinary.

Negative experience: If you love being told the wrong appointment time and being blindsided by copayments that you were initially told were going to be half of what they ended up being, this is the place for you. The staff is completely incompetent and truly some of the rudest most heartless humans I’ve interacted. Today was my second time leaving the office in tears and will not be back. The dentist is great but I can’t in good conscious keep going somewhere where 19 year old girls make me feel like a worthless human being when I try to inquire about why the bill is $130 when I was initially told it would be covered under the warranty under the crown. Really hoping the staff has some sooner or later

Fantastic experience: All in all really enjoyed my time here today! I'm normally super anxious at dental offices and Cougar Dental was very calm and kind. My hygienist was super comforting and did an excellent job with my teeth. Overall would recommend for sure!

Fantastic experience: I ended up having issues with another dentist who didn't feel comfortable helping and said I needed to find somewhere else to get a root canal. Cougar Dental not only has people who want to help but actually listened to me. I usually hate the dentist but for the first time I walked in and didn't actually feel super scared. They are also able to get me in and help me quick which really means a lot to me they are so amazing!

Fantastic experience: The service was amazing! All paperwork was completed before my appointment, so the in-person experience was easy and smooth. I was greeted when I entered and felt taken care of the entire time. The service itself (I came for a cleaning and x-rays) was great. Definitely reccomend any BYU student (or otherwise) to come here!

Fantastic experience: This is great place. The staff are so kind and you can tell every member of the facility, especially the dentists make sure you are comfortable and that any issues you are having are resolved. They treat you like a family friend and that’s really comforting!

Fantastic experience: These guys are awesome! Growing up I hated going to the dentist for various reasons. But these guys made me feel very comfortable at their office. every dental hygienist i work with were awesome as well. Dr. Black and Dr. Groesbeck where great at what they do. my last dentist i would take 6 or more hours to not be numb after a cleaning. with these guys i was that way after 2 hours after my appointment. 100% would recommend these guys!

Fantastic experience: I received multiple fillings here on two appointments. They accommodate for your needs in real time. I will have to go in to have some teeth repolished and leveled, but they were open to helping with that as soon as possible.

Fantastic experience: Dr. G is very patient and understanding He explains what the options are for my old mouth. The staff are all pleasant and capable. We've been loyal clients of Cougar Dental for over 50 years, and Dr. G is our third dentist there. Yesterday he pulled a broken tooth of mine, and I have had zero pain or discomfort!

Fantastic experience: Showed up 20 minutes late and even though they couldn't fit me in immediately they still made time for me. Don't show up late, but I appreciated there flexibility. Otherwise service here for cleanings and one filling has been solid

Fantastic experience: I went to this clinic for 11 years. I only stopped going when I moved away. I've had quite a few dental problems, but always had excellent treatment here. For a few problems that needed a different specialist, their referrals were also very good. The people working here are also really pleasant to talk to. The hygienists and dentists remembered me when I went in and asked about me and my family. I highly recommend this clinic.

Fantastic experience: I got a cleaning and wisdom teeth consultation (to prepare for my mission). My hygienist was so kind, explained everything to me, and gave me the most thorough cleaning I can remember. The dentist was just as nice and friendly as we talked through everything. 10/10 recommend

Positive experience: I had a good experience; however, the person that flossed my teeth didn’t do a very good job. She didn’t floss all the way up to the gums, she only went half way. She also didn’t floss my teeth that have a permanent retainer on them. Other than that, the service was great and the staff were friendly. Dr. Groesbeck was great!

Negative experience: I received a filling at this clinic around a year ago from a dentist who doesn't normally work there. I recently had a checkup at a different clinic, and they found the filling to be loose. After an x-ray, they could see a lot of decay underneath the filling that hadn't been properly cleaned out the first time. It was so close to my nerve that I was at risk for a root canal. Not happy.

Fantastic experience: Todd and Leilani made my experience so very warm and comfortable. I am very pleased with their expertise and professionalism. The next day they did a follow up text to be sure that I was not in any discomfort or pain. A 5 star experience for sure. Dr. Groesbeck is an exellent dentist in his workmanship as well as in his chairside manner. The office is managed very well. They are always on time and very capable and courteous. Fantastic experience: I used to go to Christiansen Dental until they told me I had like 6 cavities, so I visited here to get a free second opinion, and turns out I only had 1 cavity. The #1 thing I look for in a dentist is that they’re not trying to scam/upsell you. I love this place because they are honest, friendly, and not super froofy like other places. They also give out free food for 0 cavities, which makes me look forward to going to the dentist!

Fantastic experience: Another great experience at Cougar Dental today. I went in with a large cavity on my front tooth. I have had previous fillings on my front two teeth. There were additional cavities of which I was not aware. Dr. G recommended 2 crowns. I admit I was nervous about the pain, and the cost. I am quite anxious at the dentist but he and the staff assured me they would keep me comfortable during the process. A plan of care was made and pricing was very reasonable. Dr. G even fit me in today for my temp crown fitting! With the movie of my choice and the nitrous and the kind care of Dr. G and his staff, I really did not even feel the injections!!! Talk about pain free dentistry! Thank you so much Cougar Dental! See you soon for my permanent crowns! Update: my new crowns are in! Dr. G and his staff were meticulous with color matching and their professional care. I am so very please! Thank you Cougar Dental!

Fantastic experience: Great staff and environment. I love the level of technology that makes this office stand apart. I love my hygienist and how personable the doctor is. Also he always pays attention to concerns I bring up. Great dental place! Since I've been going here and doing everything they recommend I have not had a cavity.

Fantastic experience: I was brought into the room quickly. Aubrey did a great, gentle job cleaning my teeth. Dr Groesbeck did a great job showing and explaining what additional dental work I needed done. I was impressed by the advanced equipment at their office. Scheduling follow up appointments was a breeze, including receiving a report of what the costs would be for the work I require, including insurance coverage information.

Fantastic experience: I had to have a crown replaced. Everyone was very kind to me (and I watched a movie, which helped), so I am grateful and relieved. (I wrote the above six months ago but neglected to post it.) Today’s visit was pleasant. The hygienists were kind and efficient, and Dr Matthews (our dentist for over 20 years) is great!

Fantastic experience: This is one of those silly reviews talking about a company and its employees feeling like friends. But it’s true~ Everyone is so friendly and helpful. I had dental trauma as a kid and when that 6 month cleaning shows up I naturally cringe. And then I’m instantly taken care of. They are so gentle and thoughtful with every move. And cleanings are surprisingly enjoyable. Feels so nice to be taken well care of and to know my kids’ teeth are in good hands.

Negative experience: DO NOT GO HERE!!! Im telling you right now they tried to scam me so hard. As a young college student it was clear that they were trying to prey off of my youth and inexperience. When I went in they spent less than 10 minutes cleaning my teeth. Told me I had 16 cavities, and then that I had 8 cavities, and then that I had two cavities. Guess what, I went to see my home dentist over break and I have NO CAVITIES! They also wanted me to do over $3000 worth of work done, none of which was necessary. Please do not let these people drill into your teeth. You deserve better. Go somewhere else.

Positive experience: They do good work here. However, for someone who does not have insurance, the cost is too high for me. I thought $600 for a below-gum cleaning and $350 for peridontal maintenance was excessive. I found a place of the same quality that charges half as much.

Fantastic experience: The staff was very friendly and helpful. They answered my questions in a way that I could understand. I got my wisdom teeth removed by oral sedation and I didn’t feel any pain. I listened to a movie (a little too out of it to watch) and took the prescribed medication as well as I had laughing gas so I was sleep for the majority of it with the occasional moment where I opened my eyes. But all in al the service was great and I didn’t feel any pain. I appreciate everyone who helped me!

Fantastic experience: I have been a long time customer since 2002 with cougar dental. Dr. Matthews and his team are all great to work with! Now they take care of my whole family. Also, Dr. Grosbeck (Dr. G!) is amazing! I've had several complex treatments and they have taken care of me to get through it. I will use no one else forever.

Fantastic experience: I've been here a couple of times now and as much as I hate going to the dentist, this place is changing that. The staff are friendly and caring, from the dentist to receptionist and everyone in between. My last visit was for a cleaning with Aubrey. She was super attentive and made sure she didn't do anything until my mouth was nice and numb. She also took the time to explain to me exactly what she was doing and why. I would reccomend Cougar Dental to anybody who wants quality care for their teeth.

Fantastic experience: I love Cougar dental! I was in and out in 45 minutes and they always give a voucher for Jdawgs or Pita Pit if you come cavity-free. What a great perk for student patients! The hygienists and dentists are so nice. I highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: I've been attending this office for a while. I always felt very insecure smiling because I had a gap between my two front teeth. I didn't want to do dental lenses or a crown to keep them as natural as possible and Dr. Groesback went above and beyond. I feel more confident with my smile and I am not looking like that character the mask. Also, the dent techs are awesome there at least the one who cleaned my teeth the last two times. Aubrey! She is very careful, funny, and responsible with your smile. I definitely recommend cougar dental to anyone.

Fantastic experience: We love this office. It is efficient and friendly. Dr Grosbeak takes such good care of our aging teeth. He is up to date and very gentle. We recommend him and his practice without any reservations.

Negative experience: I went in because I had 2 spots that were bothering me, which a previous dentist recommended I keep an eye on. When I arrived at Cougar Dental they took X-rays, and told me I needed 27 fillings, 2 crowns and a root canal, for a grand total of 6 hours in the chair and far more than my insurance could take. I decided to get a second opinion, and the next dentist I went to said only 2 fillings were required. In Cougar Dental's defense, they weren't necessarily falsifying claims, they were just very aggressive with treatment. The second dentist said that that decay had reached the root, but that a root canal was still avoidable with a filling and reduced sugar intake. Cougar dental recommended crowns on 2 teeth that "tend to get fragile", the other dentist acknowledged that those teeth had the potential to get fragile, but saw no need for crowns at the time. If your teeth are fine, then Cougar Dental will work fine for you. If you tend to have teeth problems, then I would recommend seeing a more conservative dentist for a second opinion before committing to more extreme measures.

Fantastic experience: I've tried several dentists since living in Utah for a decade. I end up coming back to Dr. Groesbeck every time I try someone new (due to moving and trying someone local). Back to Cougar Dental every time, and I gladly drive the 35 minutes twice a year for my family's appointments because I think he's a great dentist.

Dr Groesbeck is a skilled and caring dentist with high communication skills, which made for a very enjoyable and efficient experience that exceeded my expectations.

This most recent time, the hygienist did an excellent, thorough job, and Dr. Groesbeck answered all my questions. Top notch dental care, gorgeous waiting room (trendy cozy calm cafe vibe - they definitely put thought into creating a nice ambiance!), and yummy JDawg or PitaPit lunch voucher bonus if you're cavity free! I have been going for several years and the staff is so kind, professional, and welcoming; it feels like visiting old friends. I also love that they are tech savvy with text reminders / I can text back if I have to reschedule. Going to my appointments actually feels like self care - I'm met with happy, healthy smiles, and leave with one too! :)

Fantastic experience: Cougar Dental is the BEST for the whole family. They are fabulous with my young kids. My kids get so excited to go every cleaning. For me personally, I have been a patient at Cougar Dental for 2 years. My natural dental health has not been the best even though I'm a daily flosser (thanks genetics!). The first time I reached out to Cougar Dental was out of desperation. I had an abscess form at the root of one of my molars that got swollen and painful FAST. It was a Friday night and my regular dentist was closed on Saturday. I messaged Cougar Dental from their website that night in terrible pain. Even as a new patient, they went out of their way to squeeze me in Saturday within 12 hours of my message. I've been a regular patient ever since. We love Dr. Groesbeck and Dr. Matthews!

Fantastic experience: Cougar Dental is the best!!! I am a busy professional and can only go to the dentist on Saturdays. The staff are always very accommodating at getting me the time I need. My teeth feel great after every 6 month visit. I have been going here for 5 years now and will keep going here until I die because I want to keep all my teeth.

Fantastic experience: I can't say enough about how good the quality ofvcare and professionalism is at Cougar Dental is! They are each artists in their own right when it comes to care for their patients. Our whole family from age 4 to 51 are cared for remarkably well.

Fantastic experience: I came to cougar dental as Dr. Groesbeck moved from my previous office. Given the amount of previous work he has done on my mouth I wanted to make sure that his work was consistent and he didn’t have to mix his art with another dentists. He has always been positive in his feedback, quick in his work, and the hygienists that have helped me maintain my dental health have been both professional and quick to give advice that was not condescending, but very down to earth. I’ve never had trouble getting reminders about my appointments, and they do great to keep me informed of any delays that may occur or billing options. Would highly recommend

Fantastic experience: Cougar Dental is great. It's conveniently located for students, very professional and well-equipped, and has friendly service. I especially like how accommodating the receptionists are to finding a date and time that works for you. Sometimes they've messaged me to let me know other times have opened up, and it's been really convenient for my schedule. My family actually moved to Orem, but we haven't found anything closer to us that's as good as Cougar Dental, so we keep coming back to Provo for the great service.

Fantastic experience: Cougar Dental makes going to the Dentist easy! We changed insurance and the front desk took care of the whole thing via text before our visit--zero headache. They answered all of my questions. Their whole staff is SO friendly and pleasant. They don't try to push products. And I felt like they really cared about my teeth!

Fantastic experience: Absolutely loved my experience at Cougar Dental and will keep them as my dentist for as long as possible!! Not only do they have great customer service, hygienists, and dentists, but they give you free lunch when you have no cavities!? YES!! I loved my hygienist as well, she was able to answer all my questions and give me great tips on how to help my gums and teeth. GO COUGAR DENTAL!!

Positive experience: The customer service here is great—I love how the hygienists text me the day after my appointments to check on how I’m doing. I’m not a dental professional, so I can’t accurately assess the quality of the dental work, but there have been a few times when I’ve needed additional follow-up appointment to get fillings smoothed out or redone. Maybe that’s normal, but that’s the only reason I’m not giving a full 5 stars.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Matthews is the best dentist in Provo. He knows my goal is to keep my teeth forever. My visits are always upbeat and fun. I’m in and out faster than with any other office. I never have to wait long. The staff all all friendly and smile every visit. I especially like that they stay open just for me on Saturdays. I love Cougar Dental.

Fantastic experience: The staff is always full of good conversations and stories! The doc and the hygienists and literally everyone in the office has been kind and considerate. I hate going to the dentist…. And being in that chair terrifies me but they make it endurable! Plus they have pretty good movies for you to watch while they’re doing their thing. Last but not least, they worked with my for the short time I didn’t have dental insurance and didn’t wipe out my bank account lol. Thanks guys!
