Negative experience: Ive been going to this dentist for as long as i can remember…my family has been going here for almost 40+ years, and i dont know if i will return after my last visit. I experienced extreme unprofessionalism from virtually everyone in the building that day other than the actual head dentist and receptionist.1st, i was called back 32 minutes later than my scheduled appointment. All good, stuff happens i get it…but for the workers to be complaining the whole time about “wanting to go home and not wanting to be there” really makes the guy laying in the chair feel real confident in their ability to complete their job…. if the workers don’t wanna be there, what makes you think that I want to be there and spend my money there? I missed my doctors appointment that was scheduled 45 mins after i shoudve been done…. 2nd, Nearly the whole time i was getting my teeth cleaned the two workers were either having a side conversation that had nothing to do with me or my services, or berating me about my own personal beliefs. It is extremely unprofessional the way this appointment went down in my eyes. No one sees eye to eye, And that’s life I get that But to be personally attacked for choosing not to get a service done rubbed me the wrong way. I found it very unprofessional to belittle a patient due to his beliefs which wasnt outlandish by any stretch of the matter while cleaning my teeth….so i couldn't even respond. 3) whats the point of scheduling service with the selected hygienist of my choice, if I get there and I don’t get that hygienist? I’m there to get my teeth cleaned that’s it. I don’t need a history lesson. I don’t need you to put your beliefs on to me. I’m there to get my teeth cleaned. That’s it.

Negative experience: I scbeduled an appoint for my father, took off work and was told he would get exrays and a cleaning, they told him they did not have time for his cleaning because they had to do another cleaning. It takes a lot for my dad to get out the house with him having parkinson's and for them to dismiss him and over look him was so unprofessional. We will not be going back.

Fantastic experience: New patient to this dentist office, and very anxious Everyone was so welcoming and friendly, they helped calm my anxiety. They understood my dental concerns and the fact it had been awhile since my last visit. We came up with a detailed plan to address those dental concerns, they made sure I fully understand what the process will look like, and how we will move forward.

Fantastic experience: I have been a patient at Family Dental Care of Spring Valley for three years and recently moved away. After a questionable experience with another dentist, when I was back in town for a few days I was able to make an appointment for a second opinion about my care. I was reminded right away why this practice is so amazing. It is obvious from all staff that they PUT THE PATIENT FIRST. The front desk staff is efficient and helpful and can actually answer your questions. The techs are gentle and thorough (shoutout to the excellent Taylor). Dr. Rosell is knowledgable and kind. The staff work well together to give you and your teeth the best care. This is a practice you can be confident with!

Fantastic experience: Everyone at Family Dental is the absolute best. It's great to know that there are still businesses that give excellent service but honestly care about their patrons. I have been going here since 2002 and it has been consistently the same. I love how personable my hygienist, Tabi is.

Negative experience: This dental office is the worst I have ever had to deal with for billing. They refuse to bill the insurance company properly and will try to force you to pay the insurance portion as a result. Despite the many interactions and clear notes from the insurance company they refuse to complete the billing of the claim. If you do not pay the insurance portion as well, they will then send you to collections. I have witnessed this with several individuals and also witnessed many elderly patients arguing with them about it at the front desk.

Fantastic experience: My experience at Family Dental Care of Spring Valley was excellent. The staff was friendly and I didn't have any wait time past my 1:30 appt time. The hygienist was very thorough, friendly, and gave me a wonderful cleaning. She gave verbal clues before starting on new areas of my mouth and explained everything well. I wish I could have her take care of my teeth every time, but sadly she is a floating hygienist.

Negative experience: I always have an issue with the front desk here. They tell me one thing over the phone just to get me there, then something completely different when I arrive. I’ve shown up for appointments they accidentally cancelled. They told me to come in for a procedure that I was putting off because of the price. They told me they would workout a payment plan for me so I came in only for them to tell me they couldn’t do a payment plan and I needed to reschedule. A complete waste of my time. And the office manager is always so rude.

Fantastic experience: We were looking for a dentist after moving to Columbia and found Family Dental Care of Spring Valley. We couldn’t be more pleased with this place! We’ve had cleanings and some crown work done to repair what our former dentist did. If you’re looking for a good competent dental service, this is the place for you!! Also had an upper partial replaced and I couldn’t be happier with the attention given to adjusting and making sure the partial was a perfect fit!! Just had a cleaning and the whole crew continues to be the best you could ask for!! Family Dental Care of Spring Valley is great!!

Positive experience: I have been a patient at this practice since it was privately owned (37 yrs). Tabitha Grigsby is an outstanding hygienist. Dr. Rosell is a meticulous dentist who cares very much for his patients. The reason I gave 3 stars is that the front desk people don’t answer the phones anymore and let the calls go to a remote location. I hate that. I used to work in this office and we had to answer the phones. If it wasn’t for the excellence of Tabitha and Dr. Rosell, I would find another practice where I wouldn’t have to go through a phone tree to make an appointment.

Negative experience: My son has seen the hygienists here since elementary school. After my his last teeth cleaning, however, no one reached out to book his next appointment. Seven months later, we discovered he wasn’t scheduled, and when I called the earliest opening offered was 2–3 months away, and they didn’t even mention a cancellation call-back. I am thinking to go elsewhere for a cleaning. I hope the office improves its follow-up and wait-list communication.

Dr Rosell was fantastic he took the time to explain everything to me and created a Treatment Plan. I look forward to starting the plan as soon as I get my 2026 Medicare advantage plan.

Positive experience: My first experience was as a new patient, the receptionist and the hygienist were exceptionally supportive and welcoming. The Dentist or Dr seem as if he was rushing from patient to patient but I was patient and understanding. I had a young Dr that completed my fillings I had a told of 5 done. Once completed I left and continued to have pain like something was in my teeth. I went back and the doctor was willing to fix his issue no charge! I was happy however this review is because ever since I left the second time my mouth still hurts and I just do not trust ever going back. I did not have the Dr on the face of the website. My mouth is not the same teeth are not the same so I will not be returning but there are still some great ladies at this clinic. The lady who did my cleaning made me feel like family but my filling experience was awful and I’m getting a second opinion before I pay the balance I’m not at peace.

Negative experience: I had a 6-month follow up cleaning appointment that was scheduled back in December for June ,and when I got to my appointment on (6/12/25) at 11 am , The receptionist told me that she could not find my appointment in the system and that it had been canceled even though I showed her the email from December with the pre scheduled appointment on it. To my surprise and confusion I wanted to know how an appointment got canceled that I never told them to cancel , nor did I receive a text or phone call to confirm the appointment. The receptionist did schedule me to come in the following Monday (6/16) at 8 am for a cleaning , to which I HESITANTLY agreed to because I needed a cleaning done, and I had plans later on that afternoon . I do have an appointment scheduled for my next cleaning in December, but I'll make my decision closer to December on whether I will keep that appointment or not or switch to a new dentist entirely.

Fantastic experience: A dentist group that cares.... takes time to talk with you, get to know you and help detect and solve any dental issues. I am not fearful of going to this dentist. He is very gentle.

Following her suggestions regarding flossing and brushing have worked wonders. The crown Dr. Rosell did 18 months ago works great. He is so gentle and makes sure you have no pain during procedures. I am very impressed!

Negative experience: We’ve been going here since we moved here in 2021. It’s always been a very positive experience. However, Tabby has always been the hygienist my son has seen. He’s 13 years old & has autism. Today, we didn’t get Tabby, & I’m not happy with our visit. She’s so good with James, & does such a thorough job. We will be looking for another dentist.

I went in thinking that I had a cavity and thanks to the hygienist and the dentist, they discovered it was a bite issue. They went above and beyond to determine what my issue was, and didn't just perform unnecessary dental work. I have found my dental care in Columbia!

Positive experience: My appointment and procedure went smoothly. However, 2 to 3 hours later my upper lip was swollen. I have tried a cold compress once with little to no change. I plan to try it again

Negative experience: When I arrived at the office, the girl at the front desk didn’t know that I had an appointment. After I tried to straighten out, she was telling everybody that I didn’t have insurance. She kept looking at me while she was talking. I felt soooo uncomfortable and I was ready to leave. Then Tabi and Heather saw me and made me feel so much better. They kept apologizing and stated they felt so horrible about the confusion and how I was treated. This place has changed in a negative way. They don’t care about the patients anymore. It’s all about money!!!! Need to find a new dentist.

Negative experience: One of the worst dental office to date...After 30 yrs of working in all types of diverse communities, meeting the dental needs of the communities..I have never seen such poor customer service, First they change my appointment, not at my request but theirs. 30 days later than the original, to an unknown hygienist. The hygienist with 30 yrs exp...whom I requested and have seen for 3yrs is the best..I come to the practice for the one hygienist..not the Doctor..you never know who it that will be! Know it is the same with the hygienist..You never know who you will see..POOR..POOR..Customer service..POOR Corporation!

Fantastic experience: I have been going Dr gaffos for 30 years. He is always done excellent work for me. Tabitha, the dental hygienist is absolutely wonderful. I have to say, if it were not for her probably would find a dentist on my side of town instead of driving as far as I do. We have become great friends. Negative experience: First impression is everything, and some people are responsible and show up to appointments, so today was not acceptable and unprofessional!!!!! I made appointments for today for my kids and I. But because somebody wrote or typed my number wrong and they couldn’t confirm my appointments, they took us off the schedule.. I took off work and my kids didn’t go to school because somebody at this office made a big mistake!! Will take my business elsewhere!!
