My VA dentist informed me that he refers all his patients that need root canals done to them, because they specialize in them. Upon arriving I was immediately set at ease. Both the Dr. And his assistant both had great tone and confidence in explaining what the procedure was going to be like, in such a way that I was instantly put ate ease. Fantastic experience: First time for a root canal, hopefully the last. Gotta say, it was not nearly as bad I thought it was going to be. Pretty sure I fell asleep for a while. Very professional, informative, made me aware of the process of the procedure and the cost up front. I had a little anxiety going in but immediately that went away once in the chair. Made me feel relaxed and the “Bed side manor” was top notch. Procedure was not nearly as painful as I thought it would be. The poke in the mouth to numb me up was the worst part. I would recommend family and friends to get work done here, hopefully I don’t need to go back but if the need arises I would go again and would know I was good hands. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: If you must have a root canal, this is the place to go. The doctor and the nurse worked really well together and they made it a comfortable experience. I had an overly sensitive tooth that my regular dentist reviewed multiple times, and eventually I was referred to Columbia Endodontics. Fantastic experience: Dr. Mehlhaff first performed a root canal for me 30 years ago, after several days of excruciating pain, and I have been devoted to his endodontic care ever since. In the following 10 years, he performed another eight root canals in my mouth, and in every case he was the soul of professionalism and compassion. (And I am a person who has had a phobia about dentistry since having a regrettable dental experience in my childhood!) Dr. Mehlhaff has now rectified a root canal that I received over 50 years ago, before he was in practice, and although it involved oral surgery, I feel confident that it will never cause a problem again. Fantastic experience: David Mehlhaff, DMD, is one of the best dental practitioners I've encountered. He's extremely competent, so much so that he's an assistant professor of endodentistry at OHSU. He's an excellent and clear communicator, explaining what he's about to do and why, and showing his reasoning with displaying x-ray results. Most of all, his calm presence and friendly manner help take the stress out of coping with dental procedures. And he's strategic in his approach, taking the most important steps needed to achieve the result without unnecessary cost. I recently had a complex case with two teeth that had infections with intermittent symptoms. First one, then the other flared up, when I needed an important medical procedure that required being free of infection before I could proceed. Dr. Mehlhaff got it done. He did what was necessary to settle the infections in a timely manner. He consulted with my general practice dentist a periodentist and my physician to coordinate treatment. He took care to avoid unnecessary expense. Now those infections are resolved. I'm very happy with the outcome. I trust his expertise and his approach, and I recommend him to anyone who may need a root canal. When you see Dr. Mehlhaff, you be treated with care and precision by a great doctor.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazed and grateful for everyone at CEGrp. The VA required me to have a root canal, which they do not do, in order to complete my dental care. I checked with numerous endodontists near my residence in Hillsboro. None worked with the VA, so I would have to pay out of pocket. Wait time varied from 1 1/2 months to 5 months. I read reviews of CEGrp and was impressed by their patient reviews. I called them to see what I needed to do to schedule a root canal. I worked with the VA and Community Care to get a referral and authorization for payment. I soon received a call from the VA telling me everything was faxed to CEGrp. Within 20 minutes of the call I contacted their office, and was asked if I could come in that day for the procedure. Unfortunately I could not, so an appointment was scheduled for the next day. Check in was a breeze with Lorcy. Tammy, Dr Kosa assistant is very skilled and efficient. Dr Kosa, besides having a great sense of humor, is extremely talented and knowledgeable in his profession. My condition was a bit unusual, resorption was actually destroying my tooth from the inside out. Dr Kosa explained what was happening and resolved the issue. The following day he called me personally to check on how I was feeling. I let him know I felt no pain during the procedure and no pain the next day. Also no pain in my wallet as they work with the VA for payment. Thank you Columbia Endodontics for your professional, caring and timely services.

The procedure was thoroughly explained to me and the dentist, I believe his name is Dave or David, was SUPER nice, very professional. My only complaint is the dental chair. Extremely difficult to get into and very uncomfortable. Not made for big people. Also, you are expected to pay at the time of service what your insurance won’t cover, however, this is well explained before your appointment more than once, along with an estimated cost so there are no surprises. I think for a lot of people this would be difficult.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Melhaff was kind, thorough, gentle and competent. He answered my questions and did a great job on my root canal. I can eat anything without pain now. My thanks to him and his staff. They were all great. Kitty
